I started posting back in 1998...the infamous Ryan Leaf Draft era. There were a couple other boards - does anyone remember "Panama's Board"? There was also the P3 crowd; Aces Casino, JustSomeBoltsFan, SDfan, Viejo Bolt, NCBolt, Michfan, Maverick (who started out as Bolts'81)...UtahBolt was part of that crew. This board is great; even though I can't hold a candle to the football knowledge that posts here. LOL!
Thanks Fleet And Everyone For An Amazing Time During The Draft

Yeah i miss RC. Ive tried to track him down. He and I were writing articles for a nother guy named Dennis and i think it was early days of Scout.com. I also used to write camp reports from UCSD with Jay Parris. Forgot with pub he was with. North County Times maybe. Sat next to Canapa a bunch and talked about the Schott camps.
Those were good times. Now we have a ton of guys like that here. LIke to think i was good influence on many who started up on our forums. lol
My most popular post on CMB was actually regarding a snake i caught. I think it was Shamrock who went to CMB to ask the group there what it was. He was posting at both sites.
Many of the OGs left with the move to LA.
I remember the writeups. Many pics posted as well. Last TC I went to was in Carson. Their first one there.
I see Shamrock on Twitter here and there but it isn't about the Chargers lol. If about football at all it's about the bad calls by the refs lol.

CMB. ..sorry I wasn't a fan of it but Roo was a mod there and I liked him the way he ran it. Tom can F off, and Joe McRugby....was ok, and Shamrock....he kind of got real grumpy. Didn't go there much til draft talk time since we were actually kind of slow here.
CMB had a secret thread/section that you couldn't see and you had to be invited and had a password to get in lol.
Roo gave me a invite.
That thread/ section was to weed out the "kids" as they put it. Was called the no nonsense section which made it better but I still didn't go there much.
Anyways I used to go to Training Camps , (well a few anyways since I didn't live there)back while at NFLForums and met a few guys there from the forum.
We run such a championship-caliber program here that we're wanting the actual team we support to get on OUR LEVEL. That's the attitude and vibe I'm getting every time I log in. There's only a few NFL team boards that can match our level or organized discussions, eye pleasing visuals and easy to read font, to our wise crack sense of humor, to our knowledge of the game.
CMB: Roo always showed love. Glad that familiar dudes like Wood Eye made their way here.

Thanks Fleet and Bolt-O for all the work you guys do here. I had a great time with this year's draft just following this board and ESPN's online Draft Tracker. I never turned on the TV. That's how I plan to do it from now on.

I really liked the fact that I could be away for a bit, pop back on and read thru about 5 or 6 pages and get caught up. Insightful stuff on some guys I never looked at, etc. Lots of fun and I am looking forward to camp. Cheers!!!

As a side note, Sean was stationed in Pensacola, Fla and this was less than a week before Hurricane Ivan bulldozed through that area. I remember we were all concerned about him at the time.
Anyway, I had driven down to Houston from Arlington so I had my car with me and ended up dropping Derek off at a church a few hours before the game so that he could attend mass.
I believe Parcells (Dan) was the one who hosted the pregame tailgate for the Charger bretheren. He went by Thunder at the time, so people confused us on the board from time to time.
One of my favorite memories of this trip occurred on the walkover from the hotel to the stadium. Sean, Mark, Derek and a couple others (and myself) were walking through the parking lot amongst all these Texans fans. Our typical response to most of the good-natured boos was "Hey, at least we're not Raiders fans!" Then, out of nowhere, we heard a whistle blowing loudly and a portly guy came sprinting up in a referee's uniform and threw a flag on us for "wrongful fandom". It was hilarious!
Great times and good memories! Twenty years ago... wow!!
