2024 Season Record Prediction thread

With the schedule out I think it's time for everybody to go on record with their expectations for this season. Here's how I see it:

Week 1: 'FADE L

Week 8: NEW ORLEANS W
Week 9: @ Cleveland W

7-10 & I think I'm erring on the side of being extremely pessimistic with that call. Start 2-1 instead of 0-3 and they could easily be right in the playoff hunt. It's really a pretty easy schedule but new systems on both sides of the ball, a total cleanout of the receiving corps, & Harbaugh having to adjust after being out of the NFL for 12 years I expect some 1st season growing pains so a ~.500 type record should be considered a 1st year success IMO.

I am struggling to find a loss , I'll randomly predict 5 losses somewhere because I am notoriously conservative = 12-5

I see them like the Detroit Lions - similar. Granted, the 2021 season Holmes and Campbell were in place so to compare the Lions 2021 to the Chargers 2023 is kind of iffy

But I think the Lions 2022 to the Chargers 2024 is better in scope. And we all saw what the Lions did in 2023 and that is the trajectory I see for the Chargers in 2025 -only maybe winning the AFC title game

Same for me. I'd rather float on the hopium cloud, until the antidote shot of reality of the first preseason game, at least.

I agree. I want to say 17-0 based on the coaching staff. I love this crew. Harbaugh did an awesome job of putting his staff together. We've never had a more complete, more talented crew.

But it takes players. A top 5 QB, some very good skill players, strong OL, strong DL, probably best in NFL pass rush, decent LBs, DBs. We look OK top to bottom.

BUT.... dodo do occur. I want to see the team before I get serious about predictions, which in my case aren't very serious anyway. I'm kinda a best case guy.

I'll start with 10-7.
