As an out of town fan, this is a blessing. Probably the only solution to my abuse, an easy cold turkey quit for me. They won't ever win, they won't be the Chargers, and they won't be in SD. Sorry for the SD local fans doe.

The Chargers have been known for mediocrity, but there are some stretch that they're a very good team, regular playoff contender, the Seau and LT era. There are many big names and history of this franchise that it would be crazy just to throw everything away like that.

LA fans shouldn't have anything against the Chargers. Despite the last 2 bad seasons, casual fans still think the Chargers as an 8-8 average kind of team, because we're around that number most of the seasons. There are many good Chargers teams with big name superstars, probowlers and hall of famers.
Despite some SD fans acted like the Chargers is the worst team in NFL history, most casual fans from the rest of the world don't think that way. If the Chargers were the Browns, Raiders, Bungles etc. then I would think LA fans would against them. Their brand is so bad that they still haven't recover from those long period of embarrassment. The Chargers brand is no where near that level of suckiness that need to rebrand and rebuilt from ground up.
Everything is globalization now in the information age. The thought of a team belongs to a single place it's really outdated. This is not college football. There are people from everywhere in a team, from management to coaches to players to fans.
My standpoint as a fan from the rest of the world outside of SD, if they change into a whole new different team, it will look like a betrayal and not fair for us worldwide fans. It will hurt their business. And why would LA fans welcome a new expansion traitor who turned their back on their former fans?Follow me and my wife here: https://twitter.com/gossip_lady_se

I can't see any reason that worldwide fans will drop the team just because of the relocation. But if they are a whole different team, then good luck, lol.
I want them to stay in SD because I used to the name "San Diego Chargers", but if they have to move, so be it. SD fans already have the chance to vote. They elect not to raise couple of dollars on the tourists to keep a football team in SD. Now they will lose a lot of $$ from opposing fans/Chargers out-of-town fans on an empty Sunday. I just feel bad for the die hard SD fans that vote Yes, for nothing. This thing drag on too long.
I read somewhere that every business advisors have advised the Spanos that LA is a better market and is a better business option and that they should move. It maybe time to move on. The only things that are keeping it from happen are that Goodell and the NFL wants them to stay in SD, and the Rams management trying to "rape" the Spanos, lol, they don't want any team come there and share their market, they're trying to discourage the Chargers from moving there.Follow me and my wife here: https://twitter.com/gossip_lady_se

I haven't read this thread but what is the point?
The oilers left their name and colors in Houston but took the records.
The browns left their records name and colors in Cleveland. Doesn't matter there is the old browns and the new browns.
And which ones, this team has altered there uniforms a bunch over the years.
I feel the legacy is destroyed if they rebrand even more so than moving to LA. No one is promising SD another team like they did Cleveland and the new browns might be the worst team ever. At least in LA they would be going back to their roots and still be in the southern california region.migrated from chargerfans.net then the thenflforum.com then here

A move with or without the name is a NFL embarrassment waiting to happen... Dean gains supposed value to the team with the move, but does that outweigh the hit the shield will most likely take with yet another team in LA.
This is simply an old school pro - con list for the NFL. Do the pros outweigh the cons and what concessions will anyone make to boost either side.

With Rivers, Gordon, Bosa, Allen, Gates, it won't be that bad for them in LA. Gates is a bit washed up but he's still has his name. There are a lot of fans even voted for him to be in the Pro Bowl, lol. With the Rams being so bad in the last 2 years and mediocre "7-9 bullshit" (Fisher's words) every season since The Greatest Show on Turf, that franchise kinda suck right now and I just don't think it'll take much for the Chargers to surpass them in the LA market in a couple of years.Follow me and my wife here: https://twitter.com/gossip_lady_se
