-pretty solid on paper with EW leading the charge with some solid depth that lacks experience.

Our Running Game should be good+
Passing Game should be good but not great
Overall D should be really good
Special Teams could be really good but I have not seen any consistency from them during the Preseason because of swapping in and out of personnel. Should improve now that we have the roster at 53.

Te'o missed the last 3 weeks of his rookie training camp. He's played 9 snaps as a pro. Do you really think he steps in as opening day starter?

The biggest surprise to me is Brandon Moore. It looks to me like MM/TT like BIG on their lines and Moore fits this profile. Along with Geathers, this has the makings of a Huge DL. Let's see if he can develop.

04/29/2013 - 2013 NFL DRAFT: TOP 10 UNDRAFTED UNDERCLASSMEN: 10. DT Brandon Moore, Texas (6-5, 317, 5.27)...A surprise early entry, Moore stated his dreams to play in the NFL as his main reason for leaving Texas after only one season in Austin. He transferred from East Mississippi Community College and started five games for the Longhorns, but a 2012 neck injury might have been a strong factor as to why he went undrafted. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

              More Brandon Moore News
              Overview
The 6-5, 335-pound Moore is a Montgomery, Alabama native who signed with Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide out of high school. He redshirted there in 2009 and registered six tackles in four games as a backup to Marcell Dareus and Josh Chapman in 2010.

For violating unspecified team rules, Moore was placed on indefinite suspension in March 2011 and the big man elected to transfer to East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), where he helped EMCC win the NJCAA national championship and emerge as a highly regarded junior college prospect by posting 38 tackles, including four tackles for loss and three sacks.

Moore established himself as a key component up front for the Longhorns in his one season in Austin, but wasn't the dominant force some anticipated after he'd turned heads throughout spring practices.

Because of his length, strength and the fact that he has been successful inside as a 4-3 defensive tackle and outside as a 3-4 defensive end, he could draw middle- to late round-consideration from NFL teams willing to gamble on his upside.

"I want to thank Coach Brown, Coach [Bo] Davis and everyone at Texas," Moore said in declaring for the 2013 NFL Draft. "I enjoyed my time and really appreciate the opportunity I had to play for the Longhorns, but my lifelong dream has been to play in the NFL and to have a chance to support my family. I'll definitely miss everyone at Texas and will always pull for the Longhorns, but I'm ready to put all of my energy into preparing for my future and getting ready to work out for NFL scouts."
              Analysis
STRENGTHS: Naturally large man with long limbs and good overall weight distribution. Scheme versatile. Flashes a powerful bull rush to push the pocket. Possesses just average burst but shows surprising straight-line speed once he gets going. Untapped potential.

WEAKNESSES: Moore has just average quickness off the snap and plays higher than scouts would like, negating his strength, at times. He lacks top athleticism and needs a clear lane to close on the ball. He suffered a neck injury against Oklahoma (2012) which caused him to be carted off the field and be sent to a local hospital for precautionary purposes. Medical reports will be important

COMPARIES TO: Kevin Vickerson, DT, Denver Broncos -- Like the former Michigan State standout, Moore possesses the length and strength to warrant development as a defensive tackle for the 4-3 or as a five technique defensive end.

                Chargers have tailback options

By Bill Williamson | September 1, 2013 8:00:15 AM PDT

The San Diego Chargers are not one of the deepest teams in the NFL. They are thin at several positions as they begin a new era.

However, one place where the Chargers seem to be fairly deep is at tailback. The team is going into the season with starter Ryan Mathews, and backups Danny Woodhead, Fozzy Whittaker and Ronnie Brown. All three backups should have a role, starting with Woodhead.

The depth is important considering Mathews’ injury history. He has missed 10 games in his three NFL seasons, so it is reasonable to think the backups will play a significant role.

Whitaker is an interesting player. He is a hard, versatile runner, who has potential. He played for new San Diego offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt in Arizona and fought his way onto this team.

As the Chargers are likely to go through growing pains in 2013, one area of strength resides in the backfield
                Go Rivers!

Chargers Bolster Roster with Flurry of Moves

                  Posted 1 hour ago

Ricky Henne Managing Editor Chargers.com @ChargersRHenne Facebook

The San Diego Chargers bolstered their roster on Sunday, adding defensive tackle Sean Lissemore, defensive lineman Drake Nevis, linebacker Terrell Manning and linebacker Reggie Walker.

The San Diego Chargers continued to bolster their roster today with a flurry of moves.

The team traded a 2015 conditional seventh-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for defensive tackle Sean Lissemore, and claimed defensive lineman Drake Nevis from the Indianapolis Colts and linebacker Terrell Manning from the Green Bay Packers.

To make room on the roster, the team released inside linebacker D.J. Smith and defensive end Brandon Moore, and placed defensive end Damik Scafe on Reserve-Injured.

The Chargers also agreed to a contract with former Arizona Cardinal linebacker and special teams standout Reggie Walker.

Three players were signed to the team’s practice squad as well: tackle Nick Becton, linebacker Thomas Keiser and cornerback Marcus Cromartie.

Lissemore was the Cowboys’ seventh-round selection (234th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft. Playing both the defensive end and nose tackle position in Dallas’ 3-4 defensive scheme, he appeared in 28 games over his first three seasons, collecting 66 tackles and 3.5 sacks. The 6-3, 303-pound William & Mary product started two of the four games he played in this preseason.

Nevis was the Colts’ third-round selection (87th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft while Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco was in Indianapolis. The 6-1, 310-pound LSU product appeared in 14 games over his first two NFL seasons, registering 35 tackles and one sack. Nevis appeared in four games this preseason, collecting eight tackles and two sacks.

Manning was drafted in the fifth round (163rd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft after the Packers traded up to select the 6-2, 237-pound alum of North Carolina State. The linebacker played in five games last season, recording three tackles. Manning dealt with injuries his rookie year, beginning with a digestive illness in training camp that saw him lose significant weight before suffering head and shoulder injuries during the season. In four games this preseason, he totaled 11 tackles and one pass defensed.

Walker spent his first four NFL seasons with the Arizona Cardinals under Chargers Offensive Coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and Special Teams coordinator Kevin Spencer. He has appeared in 48 games registering 44 tackles. A special teams standout, he served as the unit’s captain in 2012. The 6-0, 244-pounder initially signed as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas State in 2009. In four games this preseason Walker recorded six tackles with one pass defensed.
