- Of course you can !
Then, I hit a triple on 3rd base line !
Moral of the story : it's not everybody who have difficulties to switch side.

McCoy and Greg Roman were offensive assistants together for the Panthers 2000-01.
Bill Musgrave was the OC in Carolina to start 2000. He resigned after 3 games.
I can't remember who it was, but a fellow offensive coach said McCoy was scared shiitless when Musgrave quit suddenly. I don't remember who the coach was who said that about McCoy, but he meant the comment to be endearing, but it portrayed McCoy as kind of spineless, which is the kind of head coach he was for the Chargers. Always playing scared, didn't he look away during field goal tries that decided games because he couldn't bear to watch?

Then again, given the Charger kicker during the McCoy era, I would have done the same thing.
Was that picture scrubbed? I've never been able to find it on the internet.

Mike might have been an adequate X's and O's guy (and might *not* have been), but he absolutely bombed at handling the 'people' and accountability end of things.
When the going got tough, Mike got guarded and defensive with the media, and put out ridiculous, preposterous and inadequate answers to normal press inquiries. His stock response became, "I'll have to look at the film" whenever questioned about what went wrong. It completely lacked courage, showed zero insight, and gave him the appearance of being an idiot. Any half-way knowledgeable Charger fan was thinking "Dude, even EYE don't need to look at the film to tell you what went wrong! And you're saying you don't know?!?"
Coming off like an incompetent rube didn't impress anybody. It eroded any good will or credibility Mike might otherwise have had with the public.
There were SO many reasons Mike McBoy had to go. Take your pick!1. Mason Taylor TE LSU
2. Quinshon Judkins RB Ohio st
3. Kyle Kennard Edge So. Carolina ✓
4. CJ West DT Indiana
5. Don'te Thornton WR Tennessee
6. Zah Frazier CB UTSA
6. Jarquez Hunter RB Auburn
6. Jay Higgins LB Iowa
6. Hunter Wohler S Wisconsin
7. Carson Vinson OT Alabama

It is possible for several things to be true all at once.
John Spanos is ascending to power,
with on the job training
under the AJP
Work-Study Program.
He no doubt saw that it was time to invest in Jim Harbaugh.
Is not Ben Herbert an "innovative" man ?
There's the key...Harbaugh's staff...100% Jim.
No Ken Whisenhunt's here.
Not a mixed bag of meh.
I think Dean is the one who probably said enough is enough of your falling in love with inexperienced HCs fueled along with the fans calling them cheap and would never hire a good HC who costs money.
Thats just my 2 cents on it.1. Mason Taylor TE LSU

I've told this story about McCoy a while ago here: The summer before his last year, my wife and I were out to dinner for our anniversary at Pacific Coast Grill in Cardiff and McCoy, his wife and daughter and her friend were sitting at table near us. We ordered our drinks and got up to take a picture in front of the ocean. McCoy's wife was taking pictures of her kids and asked us if we wouldn't mind taking a few of them. We did and I mentioned we recognized her husband and were Charger season ticket holders. She called Mike over and he chatted with us for about 15-20 minutes. He and his wife were genuinely awesome people, asking us questions about our family, where we lived etc. He asked his kids to take pictures of us on my phone and we chatted about the team (he swears he never heard Rivers curse). Our drinks came and we went back to our table, ordered our food and ate. When it came time for the check, I asked the waitress for it, and she told us it was taken care of and pointed at McCoy. We went over and thanked him, and he just smiled and wished us a happy anniversary and thanked us for supporting the team. The tab was for about $275. So, while I wasn't the biggest fan of McCoy the coach after his first year, McCoy the person is all class and I'll always have a soft spot for him.
Didnt Slausen say something to the effect that Mccoy ws overruled on some thngs? Maybe it wasnt Slausen but i know he and Woodhead had some things to say but not sure it was that. Id take McCoy back over Staley in a heart beat.
Lynn was just stubborn to get rid of his buddy Stewart on STs and as a HC you have to make those tough decisions. He didnt have a problem removing Whizenhunt who was far better at his job than Stewart.1. Mason Taylor TE LSU
