I'd rather the phone be ringing off the hook for Njoku and maybe the kid from Carolina. Both of those teams have to be sellers, you'd think.

The main concern with him is he's been playing this season with an MCL injury and his age. If the injury is manageable the guy can still play.
KC gave up a 5th rounder that can turn into a conditional 4th, I consider that a good deal considering how low they usually draft.
If you're concerned about a guy that only "seems to show up when he wants to," the WR in Carolina might not be the guy you'd want a team to trade for, he has a reputation.
I think Njoku makes sense because he's under contract already for 2025 and would make a starting TE1 one less hole for the team to fill in the off-season if the price is reasonable.Last edited by rensoul; 10-23-2024, 04:11 AM.

With a good interior, at least you have a pocket to step into, or you can run counters if the edges are crashing down on you. If you have pressure coming from the interior, the tackles almost start to not matter much. Pressure from the interior comes quicker, prevents the creation of a pocket, destroys an honest run game and is much more difficult to mitigate than pressure from the edges which can be bolstered by a blocking TE.

I was high on DHop because of his experience, it wouldn't be a big transition, he's played in a number of systems, he could hit the ground running.
Diontae Johnson just turned 28, he had a great season in Roethlesberger's final season in 2021, 1161 yds/8TDs. He's on the small side, 5-10/183, but the dude creates separation and he has good hands. Not sure why Pitt wanted to get rid of him, he seemed like the natural successor to Antonio Brown.
Njoku also recently turned 28. He's a physical specimen and he's a bit of character. He entered the league at age 21 in 2017. He had a few character concerns when he was young, but he's matured and is a good player and teammate. His best season was last year with Flacco 882 yds/6TDs.

He was "very accountable," as he explained that he "zoned out" due to frustration, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano. On the previous play, Johnson caught a touchdown pass that was later ruled as incomplete. He ended the game with four receptions for 50 yards on eight targets."
- The guy is a very talented player, just trying to add some context of why a WR in his prime would be shipped out of Pittsburgh of all places when they still have a need for WR's over there.
If you want more examples here is an entire thread of Pittsburgh fans discussing him
He's talented but with that may come some other issues to consider.

No one knows what the guy has left .... Palmer was on track for a 1000 + season last year, when Herbert had no one else to throw to.
Far cry from 2020.
