Yes, the 99 sucks! When I lived in The Valley, they would have 50-car pile-ups during the winter when the Tule Fog rolled in thick.
Not sure about the fishing I know they have tournaments there I mostly just pull the kids on tubes or wakeboards I don’t get behind the boat much anymore. It really is a must see and there’s all kinds of places to stay and very close to the south entrance of Yosemite and Giant Sequoia groves. I’ve met lots of Chargers fans there and there’s a sports bar at the resort and lots of people from SoCal go to Bass Lake.

Rich Eisen and Albert Breer, who live in LA, rave about Harbaugh and Herbert and how good the Chargers are going to be. But they also they don't know any Chargers fans in LA. Eisen also says Travis Kelce has owned the Chargers more than the Spanoses.

I would think in a thread about Chargers Training Camp most of the comments be at least somewhat related to Chargers Training Camp. But perhaps I am crazy, quite possible.😏
Our threads tend to meander whimsically here. If you're looking for us to stay on-topic this time of year... you'll be disappointed.
Right now the only news is that Jim Harbaugh is a nut that compares the 1st day of camp to his travels down the birth canal.
I don't expect we'll see anything of value for several weeks. It's training camp. Even preseason games won't tell us much.
What do you expect from us? What is your quest here?

The discussion about prospects and the draft has passed... those were lively discussions.
This board is a wealth of knowledge about Chargers' football. Many of these posters have been following since 1961.
Feel free to ask questions. Most of today's offensive philosophies started right here with this team. Sid Gilman... Don Coryell...

We are aware that the Packers are a storied team... but so are the Chargers.
        Curious...?

Silly me thinking I might hear about the injuries to Slater and Dobbins in the TRAINING CAMP thread.

Harbaugh doesn't tell anybody much about anything. It took us 3 fricking weeks to find out Colston needed an apendectomy... LOL!
Here's your news on Slater (you heard it here first)... He's got a thing... he's working through it... he'll start at a glide... and then he'll take off.
As for Dobbins... I believe he's healthy. But you wouldn't know it reading all these posts... all some want to talk about are inevitable injuries he will surely suffer from.

Here's your training camp update: Dudes aren't in pads yet. They're wearing game day jerseys during their jog throughs. The DB's can't make contact yet and their not allowed to use their hands yet. The WR's aren't allowed to jump for the ball. D-linemen aren't allowed to seriously rush the passer. And somehow... Jim Harbaugh remembers his own trip down the birth canal.

My wife and I did 20-lake basin. Very pretty. We couldn't find a big enough tree to hoist our packs... so I scrambled the packs onto the top of a very steep/high rock. A bear found the packs in the night and ate all of our food (shredding the packs). Needless to say, we got a lot of strange looks on the way out. The bear ate through a big peanut butter container... smacking his lips as he ate... LOL!

I took a picture of the lake below Bishop Pass (Saddlebags Lake?). It had a 20-foot corniced snow drift on the opposite side. The snow bank and towering rock crags above reflected in the lake. The lake was so still. When I got the picture developed, I couldn't tell which was the real snow/crags... and which was the reflection.

My brother and I started out for Whitney... but a snow storm rolled in... so we tuned back.
the passes in 20 lake basin are at/above the tree line, the trees up there are fewer and scrawny small. - at least back in the 70s when I went there. Beautiful up there though. I never saw any signs of bears when we went, man thats a wild story. Closest I have is we went camping at two harbors Catalina, a big group of us. Those of us who had been there before had locking coolers etc but there were three gals that brought all their food in paper and plastic grocery bags. wild pigs got into all of their food the first night, we shared food we had the rest of the trip. Funnier - some jogger running down the dirt road and a huge buffalo on the hill saw him and for some reason took offense - chased him about a half mile lol. We were all just standing in our camp watching …

                  Guilty as charged! lol

The problem is that Dobbins has virtually ZERO track record of STAYING healthy. That he's healthy, right now, before the season has officially started, isn't persuasive evidence that anything in his pattern has changed.

Of course I hope for the best with Dobbins. It's not as if I want him to get injured. It's just that history has trained me to EXPECT that he'll sustain a significant injury.

If Dobbins manages to stay healthy, it will serve as a huge boost to the Bolts' running attack. If he *doesn't* stay healthy, then either Vidal has to step up, and/or Hortiz has to find a decent holdover RB on the waiver wire.

A significant degree of the Bolts' battle plan for the 2024 season relies on the not-so-reliable Dobbins. A whole lot is riding on this. The team's fortunes this year hinge, in a big way, on Dobbins. So *pardon me* if I'm sweating a little...

A healthy Dobbins all year is best case. I strongly believe that we can win without him, I know Harbaugh intends to, if necessary. Winning will be fun with or without Dobbins.
