Scott has NFL 2nd best hang time and PFF's #4 punt rating. Stonehouse' hang time was close to NFL worst last year. No doubt the reason he was cut.

The stats are fairly solid. So perhaps looks like Tarzan and under Jim he plays like King Kong????

The Saints have no cap space and still signed two players to multi year deals.

Come on chargers, this is ridiculous

As for drafting a G, that covers 1/3 of an IOL where all 3 were bad last year
We have an RB1 and WR 1. hopefully we hit on a TE that can become a 1, likewise IOL. We're looking for upgrades and MAY find them in draft or FA. It's a long time 'till roster cuts to 52 happen..

Niners are sitting on (3) 4th round comps right now. Just have to draft well let the players go...get the comps and then hit on them. Replenish the good players lost. And keep the cap hits totally manageable.

I was expecting more movement from us regarding the top IOL guys. But i was also not used to Hortiz's philosophy. We all need time to see how he plans on doing things and 1 offseason was not enough to gauge how he will do things. And we are only in year 2 with major roster turnover. So hes holding out. Gonna add a ton of talent through the draft. And likely use money in that 2nd wave of free agency. When teams drop starters with rookies coming in to take their place.

We are still in that period of building for the future but also trying to win this year. The foundation of any team is built through the draft. He has had one. You still have to get to a point where the house is built through the draft...and then you can throw silly money at free agency to go for broke. We just scored Hart and Still. Need more gems like that. I see this draft as being a major foundation draft. And effort put into acquiring additional picks for this draft. So the plan is to get a really nice influx of JH/JH guys.
I don't see this clear pattern you describe. Good teams, better than LAC 2024, with vet QBs are signing players.

yes - Bears, NE, NYG, Hou, Wash, Car, ?
No - Chiefs, Bengals, Bills, Ravens, Lions, Min, Bucs, Rams, Jags, Cards, Saints, Dolphins, Packers

I'm gonna puke if I read one more time "uhhhh, the foundation is built through the draft". FFS - did anyone ever say "no, dont draft good players - absolutely don't do that!" How does signing good players stop Joe from drafting?

We saw how well this team won with Steichen offenses, Lombardi offenses, and Kellen Moore offenses. I want this team to win. Furthermore, the Chargers -- I have to state the obvious -- don't have some transformative QB. You have a seriously flawed QB with poor footwork, poor accuracy, and who makes mistakes when pressured. You have a QB who still cannot read a defense, make a solid change at the line, and get the team in a positive play. You have a QB who still -- to the best of my knowledge -- needs a center to make line calls because he cannot do it. So a GM building the team to win, the WRs don't matter. What matters are the trenches--the meat. You need a phenomenal OL and you need phenomenal blocking. You need a ball control offense to overcome your QB's shortcomings. That is what Hortiz is doing. This idea that Herbert is the second coming of Brady or Manning and can carry this team is ridiculous. Herbert cannot even carry Rivers' jock at this point (side note -- I think Rivers beats the Texans in that game, but that is another matter). He can win a Super Bowl, just like Trent Dilfer did or even Jalen Hurts did. But it will not be because of his play or WR play. It will be because the team controlled the ball and clock with a OL that mauled teams into submission. That's why this team will never go after the Metcalfs or the Adams WRs of the world. Stated another way, why spend that kind of money when you QB has these kinds of deficiencies? You don't.

Lastly, folks will tell me, "but Harbaugh says this about Herbert and that about Herbert." Yes, he does. That is called coaching. He is hoping that his positivity will result in Herbert elevating himself and his game. Harbaugh knows Herbert's deficiencies. He wants to lessen those deficiencies enough and elevate him enough to win. But Harbaugh, recognizing the nature of the position, is building a team with Hortiz where he isn't going to rely on Herbert elevating his game. After all, Herbert's history at Oregon shows that after his sophomore year, he plateaued. We are seeing that again in the NFL.
The bolded says it all about this post.

Not the first time your have stated " the obvious". Not going to work this time either. And Harbaugh said those things about Herbert when he was coaching at Michigan and talking to Mike Greenberg so it isn't some new talk.

Still saddled with a bad iOL and no weapons aside from Ladd.

Theyโ€™ve tried out Zion at Gโ€ฆItโ€™s been terrible..

I could see Zion backing up Bozeman though. A back up to the back upโ€ฆlol
The incentives laden contract screams "competitors welcome"... I'm sure Bozeman is familiar with this mantra.
A competitor @center seems inevitible... whether that is through the draft, free-agency, or trade is TBD.
If Bradley gets beat out @center, I'm sure he'll be given the opportunity to compete @guard.
If he can win either position, then he's worth the whole pay. If he can't win either position, then he'll be worth the reduced pay.
Pretty smart structure if you ask me. Depth @center/guard is valuable... and he played both @Baltimore.

                      Run the ball
                      Play great defense

His tackling is a weak spot,.so I hear. Fulton was ok, had some good games but later in the year he got toasted.
I think Jackson will be better and we got him cheaper than what Fulton got paid.

Yes he is 180 lbs and so was Asante so they are the same size. For the most part he was durable though.
Jackson graded out as one of the worst CBs in the league. That's why Pitt parted with him.
