Quick list off the top of my head: Hurts, Josh Allen, Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Burrow, Tua (when healthy), Love, Geno Smith, Darnold, Purdy, Baker Mayfield, Goff, Stroud, Stafford.

All would improve this team significantly. And if this team needed a win -- do or die -- given the history, all listed are better options. I mean, we have seen Herbert choke against the Raiders, the Texans, and the Jaguars. Hard to recall of any big game he has won since the Rose Bowl -- and his performance there was luke warm at best.

Arm strength and spirals mean nothing if you can't read a defense.

It is 2nd tier FAs and casts off now.

I do not think we sign EE, we will not offer him contract nor money he would be happy with + I do not think he is within Hortiz timeline for team building.

It does make you wonder what his asking price is if he flew in to Denver and left without a contract. I think he could help, but again, TEs and 30 aren't normally a good combo. He's better than what we have though I think.

Foundation is built through draft but you augment in free agency. And with contracts like Mack Harris and Tartt, they have only added cap in 2026 for Boze Scott and the CB. And at most that is like 12m.

so the chargers still have like 40m this year to spend. So dammit - spend some

agree... i read somewhere we had over 50 million left... rookies will cost like 10-15 million?..... Slater will likely cost < 10-20million first year of new deal and maybe more after that?...so we have money left to spend on 2 starting OG's.. or an OG and a C.... so we can draft a talented OG in mid rounds of draft who might even start....
I would love to add engram at TE, as insurance against someone taking Loveland (who is meant to be a Charger).... greatest Need and connection to Harbaugh who called him the next kelsey... (and many others have too)...so I kind of hope DEN signs Engram so they wont take Loveland.... lol Loveland will be special in NFL and the piece Chargers offense has been missing since Gates retired....the piece that allows you to beat great teams...

Kupp would still be a good add as a placeholder for draft choices that will be groomed for the X position.... Ladd, QJ, and Loveland could give Herbert 3 great short to medium range receiving options to keep chains moving for Harris and our rookie RB's to run all over defenses because they will no longer be able to stack the box like in 2024.....

You named 15 keep going! Oh and Darnold was lights out in that playoff game! Geno Smith? Are you serious? Tua is 0-1 in the playoffs but he's better than Herbert? Got it. You still have 5 QB's to name! Its obvious you have ulterior motives to make a statement that Herbert isn't in the top 20 of your list, on the Chargers fan board.

the team had like 5 slow blocking TE;s last year...none of which could "consistently" catch!....lol

We must fix the most important receiving position on offense... the TE.....

TE Juwan Johnson just got 3 yrs 30 MIL from NO. They are very similar players.

Im warming up to the Engram idea...we simply are not going to spend anything higher than a 5th round pick on TE. We cant. Too many other needs. At least Engram is a sure handed, savvy receiver...better than we have had last several years at the position. Much as it pains me, Herbert will have to wait another year or more for a Gates/Gronk/Kelce type friend.
