KA could have stayed but he chose to leave. I think some fans expectations are unrealistic. They really have one offensive weapon in Ladd. In spite of all is the more than likely will make the POs as a WC team which is a great achievement considering. All they need to do is get in the POs and anything can happen especially if they are mostly healthy.
I get the personnel situation fully. I have no problem with taking a couple of years to build the roster.

I do have some issues with the offensive philosophy and play calling. I believe more can be done to make this offense more functional with the current personnel.

Winning those games is where an effective offense comes in
We are one year into the rebuild. The O is just barren of talented skill players around Herbert. My point is, Harbaugh is never going to trot out an aerial explosive offense. It will be a grinding running game, throwing when needed good D and ST. And people won't like it. And he will win.

It's the ideal scenario when you have a QB who throw arrows and no INT

They want balance. They had a pretty efficient and effective mix in the second half last night.

Maybe Roman has been sandbagging it and waiting until the last month of the season to unleash Smartt and Chark?

He might not have a choice at this point.

i am usually a "trust the coaches" guy, but i would have said that Smartt was our best receiving TE on opening day.

Watching the Bengals game last night -- Chase is the Free agent WR to be to get from the Bengals, not Higgins. Granted, it would cost at least a FRP plus.... I guess one can dream

Just imagine pairing Herbert with an out of this world talent like Justin Jefferson or Chase.

For me, that is by far the number ONE priority for Herbert. I am giving Hortiz a pass this past offseason as he had work to do. But Herbert needs a difference maker at WR.

The Bengals may not want to pay up for Chase and not sure he is worth a 1st and another pretty good pick. But - he is a difference maker at TE and you put Ladd and QJ as the other two WRs, now you have something

EDIT: Difference maker at WR - of course

Then imagine drafting Tyler Warren at TE

Well if the Chargers are trading for Chase - one can dream - it will cost them a FRP so not sure the Chargers would have the option

Granted, I think if the Bengals prioritize Chase - Higgins, I think would work and wouldn't cost the draft pick if a TRUE Free agent.

Couple of things happened to allow them to have the balance in the 2nd half:

                          1) One is they were able to get good gains on 1st with the runs.

                          2) Most important they limited the penalties. That's been an issue all year. When you're playing behind the chains it really limits the play calling.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!
