Another LEGITIMATE question given letting their best DL get away for the diffrence of a million a year has een widely panned and critiaized around the league.

In fact most on this board have said letting Poona go was the biggest mistake of this off season.

It was Poppers first opportunity to ask question since the combine which covers free agency in March

There is a "self-glossing tone" to Daniel Popper, disguised as everybody's beer drinkin' bud.

      High fives from Kris.
      Ratings are spectacular.

We can keep hoping, I guess, that Hortiz and Harbaugh will be transparent and answer captain obvious questions, against the better interests of the roster.

Joe said Easter Coasters should come to LA. Maybe Daniel can attentuate his NY sportswriter and become a Venice beach bum some day.
      We play modern Harball.

I never worry about all that shit. What I care about is that Popper provides great content, better than 90% of beat writers out there. I am glad to have his Charger coverage.

BTW, I like Mason Taylor, Donovan Ezeiruaku, and Trey Amos @#22.
I'd like them a lot more @#30... especially with a starting center thrown in.
I like Amos. That’s why I want to trade back with BUF but I wouldn’t want McGovern if it means no 2nd and 4th. Keep him. James will be fine, I want those picks.

The lack of depth at WR and TE and our RB's breaking down at seasons end was as big an issue as our IOL play! All four positions still need to be addressed in the draft even with the addition of Harris, Williams, Becton and Conk!

I wonder if Popper included that Poona was released by Buffalo because he was seldom used there?
Did Popper mention that we signed him to a $1.8m contract in 2024?
Recognizing talent and signing talent at a reduced rate seems to be a strength of Joe Hortiz.
There was no fawning over Poona's signing in early March, 2024.
Now he's identified D"Shawn Hand and Naquan Jones as fits... along with a reasonable re-signing of Teair Tart.

Do we believe that Daniel Popper is a better evaluator of talent than Joe Hortiz...?
              Protect the QB
              Run the ball
              Play great defense

Popper isnt but Les Snead is a more accomplished GM than Joe Hortiz

My proposal would be: #22 for #30 + McGovern.
No 2nd round or 4th round forfeiture... I really like those picks, too.

With that trade your starters/depth looks like this:
                  LT Slater
                  LG Zion
                  OC McGovern
                  RG Becton
                  RT Alt

                  OG/OC depth Bozeman/James
OT depth Pipkins (or draft replacement)... Salyer...?

The beauty is that we haven't given up any picks and can still draft @#30, #55, #86, #125....

Les Snead gets credit for picking Verse and Fiske last year... and Puka the year before... along with several productive under-the-radar prospects the last few years.

But we should mention that he selected 7 players before he lucked into Puka. He chose Davis Allen 1 pick before he selected Puka.

                      Agreed.
                      But ask yourself this.
Does Pop really expect that Hortiz is going to answer pointed questions about his roster building, prospect analysis, and contract negotiations at this time ?
                      Of course not.
Therefore, it is not "information gathering" at all.
                      We play modern Harball.

100 percent agree...whats Joe supposed to say? Yea, those guys suck, but we are trying to work something out by shuffling them, in case we cant land an upgrade we are targeting in the draft? That would be tipping your hand AND shitting on players that may be on your roster next year...the question was impertinant...he can ask those when we are 6-11...not 11-6 with a playoff berth, the year after we were picking 5th in the draft.
