Nothing against Mike Williams personally, I like him a lot, but I don't see how he is a lock to make this team. Coming off of a season-ending injury from 2023, he had 21 receptions for 298 yards and one touchdown in 18 games (five starts) for two teams last year. He probably isn't anywhere near the Mike Williams we had in 2021.

Due to experience, veteran presence, heard 2nd year from that injury is considered back to normal, still his hands are the best on a team, connection with Herbert.

I'd rather have Slayer in the WR room than QJ.
JH would have a great deal more confidence throwing to 13( especially since most here don't believe QJ is an outside threat) over the middle.
MW....not sure what he has left. Having the new kids on the block( Rice, Harris, Lambert-Smith) should keep MW healthier( i.e. he'll get less snaps) for when we actually need him.

Plus his contract is fully guaranteed. Now if he is just terrible -- maybe they release him Its going to take time for Harris and KLS to get the playbook down, running routes one would imagine so that gives Herbert a nice safety blankt

Perhaps but each of them is weak sauce. THEY ARE the IOL which everyone foamed about all offseason and said had to be upgraded.

That’s why we have 16 OL in camp currently competing for those 9 spots and nobody has ruled out another FA target.

This is why I said OL has “hot seats” as well.

While I agree Slayer would be productive, I think it would take too many reps away from the other new receivers we’ve added who will need them to develop.

Hard pass on KA for me.

I wouldn't mind another veteran OG being added. I feel good about Becton, Alt and Slater
James - not a good last year but 2023 was solid. Maybe he returns to form

They are on hot seats to be starters on opening day. I think their seat on the 53 bench are a lot cooler. They are the best backups Joe has on the roster as of today and at least one needs to start as of today. Maybe camp will reveal a magic gem, or maybe Joe makes another move or two. until then, these guys are safe on the team as of today.
