I am also very concerned about the future of TE. Yes, we are all in on OG, but he is a 5th rounder that all teams passed multiple times on him.
Loveland and Tre would have been my dream but the 1st round really did not go the Chargers way.
The rookies we drafted are younger, fast and catch much better than the existing WR group (execpt Ladd of course).....

This season, defenses will no longer know what the play call will be ahead of time, based on the group of players on the field, because of the following:

    1. We now have 2 big power RB's who can run, block and catch!!!
    2. We now have 2 big outside X WR's, and a blazing fast deep threat in KLS whom defenses will need to keep safeties deep to make sure they dont get burned.... and they can all catch!!!
    3. We now have 2 TE's who can actually catch!.... helping to open things up for our new group of WR's....
    4. We have upgraded the OL so there will be better protection and run blocking...
    5. All of this helps the running game and passing game
    6. All of the above helps take pressure away from QJ so he can just focus on what he does best.....

This season, we have so many playmakers that so single one of them may get 1000 yards, but our offense will be far more consistent, explosive, unpredictable and much higher scoring.... when everyone on the fir=eld can make plays, its much harder for defense to know what to do or who to double team?

Wow...that's a lot of coin...I'd rather skip the option and let's see how he does this season...if he improves his pass pro, maybe make him a decent 1+1 or 2+1 offer...if he doesn't want to go for it, Trader Joe reaps a nice 5th round comp pick...

All good. Just feel like we need one more good body at LG competition. Even Brandon Scherff would be ok

If Zion Johnson has a good enough year to warrant a 5th round comp pick - thats an excellent developm ent for the Chargers this coming season

Why not? Puca did it as a 5th rounder. Why can’t KLS? Also, they aren’t completely relying on KLS, he is direct competition for QJ. I believe it will bring the best out of both of them. They have 10 WRs in the room now and much better competition than last year. Don’t sleep on MW! Over a year removed from ACL surgery and back with Herbert.

Good point...if Zion has another poor pass pro year, we'll be lucky to get a 7th round comp pick for him...

Zion would get the same comp pick Asante is getting for the Chargers
