I get vibes from him that he is very confident and competitive. My sense is that he is one of those players that is going to be hard to keep off the field.
100% lockstep...only way he or Dre doesnt assume a big role in this offense is if Q takes a leap forward...nothing wrong with that, either...we would be rich at WR...

But my money is on Dre...him, Ladd, and the rotating tandem of Mdub/Tre make up a nice blend of savvy route running, speed, and physicality...and they can all catch the damn ball!
    Lone Bolt's Final Mock

Tyler Booker G, Josaiah Stewart Edge, Cam Skattebo RB, Mitchell Evans TE, Jamaree Caldwell NT, Isaac TeSlaa WR, Ahmed Hassanein DE, Craig Woodson S, Eli Cox C, Kalel Mullings RB

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Now , because the QB has the ball in his hands and is calling the shots and audibles at the line of scrimmage every offensive snap, that dude gets the most credit and the most blame and rightly so. I don't question Herbert want to win ability, but sometimes he has sailed the ball instead of throwing accurate strike. And other times he doesn't get his team into best play. And if he not sure of best play or doesn't like the options OC have him, then call the timeout and march to the sideline with a disgruntled look of WTF LFG! I see him growing into 'That Man' and finding a way to get it done over the next 10 years of his career. hopefully this next season will be his first of multiple trophies, which is what Jim Harbaugh said when he was hired. ,"Multiple Championships"
If Herbert had 2024’s dominant defense in 2020-2023, he would have several playoff victories.

If Herbert had 2020-2022 offense in 2024, he would have had more playoff victories.

This looks like the year, both offense and defense are finally stocked with enough talent that an average Herbert over his first 4 years is more than adequate to assure more playoff victories.

I believe this is exactly what Harbaugh has been saying. Over and over Harbaugh has said explicitly, Herbert isn’t the problem and he already plays great.

Last year the offensive weapons, other than Ladd, were the worst in Charger history and they still won 11 games! If that’s not great quarterbacking then I don’t know what to tell you.

Think about this….other than Ladd, Herbert’s starting WR’s, RB’s, and TE’s could be completely different than last year. When has any team had an overhaul that dramatic from one season to the next? It was a complete shitshow last year besides Herbert and Ladd.

          I am with you.

Now like you say if QJ come in this year and kills it and keeps the rookies at bay, that is a nice problem to have, but we have fundamentally seen what QJ is. I suggest that Tre and KLS really fill holes missing in this pass offense...Tre provides a real X receiver and KLS is a bonafide deep threat that will open up the field.

100% I will shout Herbert isn't the problem. I'll ride to the gates of hell with that young man, where when he drops me off they'll have to pry his bobble-head from my cold dead hand. (I assume he won't belong there)

Yea, he has a huge mountain to climb. He is definitely a project but has a chance to make the PS. I just thought his numbers were insane even though it was D3. It's still impressive. He dominated @ the D3 level which you have to do to get a chance at the NFL level. He is going to be fun to watch during TC to see if he can make that transition.

I don't understand writing him off the way some have.
Happens every year after the draft. Drafted players in the higher rounds are going to come in and make immediate impacts. Doesn't usually happen that way. Cam and Still had to wait a while before they got their shot. Luckily, the coaching staff got them ready, and they took advantage of their chance.

That would certainly be the biggest offensive weapon housecleaning in one offseason that I've ever witnessed.

The Shitshow extended to the O-line, of course, which made Ladd's achievements that much more remarkable-- he broke virtually ALL of the franchise rookie receiving records, even during a freaking shitshow!

I would say that getting snaps as a starter in your first year in the NFL IS making an immediate impact.

Still was a starter by week 4 and started in 12 of the 14 games he played. If that isn't making an immediate impact as a rookie i don't know what is
