For the record - not saying we should trade up for Loveland.

just saying, even if he costs a 3rd and Goeddert a 4th or 5th - would pay the higher price for the longer term, and probably better player for the next 4 years. And much cheaper

      Roster ranking per The Athletic.

it looks like our need match up with available players early in the draft.

      14. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers delivered a big turnaround in coach Jim Harbaugh’s first season, but the roster still has major holes. They rank in the bottom third of the league at running back, tight end, interior offensive and defensive line and cornerback. Heading into the draft, the Chargers are likely best served targeting the best player available rather than trying to force a pick to fill a need.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
      Let’s win one for Mack.

Sounds like the price on Goeddert is dropping and he will be moved at the draft. If the price is low maybe Chargers shoud have waited and upgraded on Conklin.

And id say it like im throwing him a secret bone.

Thats what id do. Maybe Joe did that lol
Lol. I remember last year, when someone wrote that Joe Hortiz said Malik Nabers may have been the best wide receiver prospect he had ever seen. A bunch of Malik Nabers fans on here got excited, thinking that meant he was the pick, without taking into consideration that Hortiz wouldn't have put that out there if he actually believed it. Lol.

After listening to the Hortiz and Alexander press conference today, I believe they're happy with the board and plan to let the draft come to them. BPA from the Chargers board. They will listen to offers to trade dowm, may do so. Trading up doesn't seem as likely. They like the team today and the scouts are slobbering at the bit for day three picks where they may find gems in the rough.

Im not sure taking DT high makes sense if you can get 2 in the mid rounds who are basically as good as the guy drafted in the 1st. RB and EDGE are deep too.
I’m always good with drafting “best of bunch” in a deep position group.

PFF’s Dalton Wasserman’s Charger 3 found perfect draft

                22 TE COLSTON LOVELAND MICHIGAN
55 RB CAM SKATTEBO ARIZONA STATE
                86 DT JAMAREE CALDWELL OREGON

No offense to Sikema, but Wasserman is head and shoulders above any PFF guy I’ve ever listened to. He’s not long for PFF cause he’s just a really good analyst.

                Chargers are at 1:22:00

No, Conklin is at 3m, plus no draft pick
Goeddert is at 14m - unless rework his contract

Listening to the Robert Mays The Atheltic podcast with Brugler and DJ - both have Cam outside the top 75 on their boards

Four players DJ likes outside the top 75
RJ Harvey - I think he likes him for the Chargers with his speed

I meant the assets price is getting lower to acquire him. Of course his salary is more. You get what you pay for. Do we want the cheapest football players on the roster or the better ones ?

Wasserman makes the point that Harbaugh went to the SB with Frank Gore…..Not a blazer. 4.58..
But Skattebo’s hands and his receiving skills are also an added threat
Caldwell replaces Poona in the A gap.

Too high for Skattebo. I know he was fun to watch in college but there are several RBs in this draft I want more. I am not convinced his game will translate to the NFL quite like at Arizona St.

Plus with Najee not being fast, and never breaking any runs over 30 yards, I would like faster running mate than 4.6 in a draft where good sized RBs were running in the 4.4s left and right
