I went to Patrick Henry High in '70 and '71. The Chargers for a couple years used Patrick Henry to train at. Only because at that time PHH was a state of the art High school and had all the good state of the art training equiptment as well. It was awesome to watch. Use to play pool with Russ, a great person he was.Originally posted by FtheTurds View Post

Trick question lol.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

I see a disparity of knowledge in youth similar to the richer (of knowledge) getting richer. The poorer (of knowledge) getting poorer. That's why I'm rooting for guys like a Zion Johnson to make it to represent big uglies with brains.
That said pro athletes with lower IQ and superior talent require some type of support system to tutor them in finance, to invest in lifelong education, mentorship from vets in terms of starting a family, generational wealth, etc. Having a lower IQ is deceiving due to deficient upbringing and yes personal choices within such confines. Education is the perfect vitamin.

PHHS for me as well. One of the first high schools to go to modular scheduling modeled after college schedules.Originally posted by colorado View Post

ahh, that all makes sense (mostly). ditto, and thx. sometimes lower IQ actually is lower IQ though. Environment and exposure contribute significantly to end results but its idealistic sophistry to believe all individuals would have identical capacity and intelligence if only they had the same exact exposures. there are immutable differences across the human species for every attribute, be it speed, strength, agility, and yes, intelligence. There are many left behind by environmental deficiencies though - these artificial gaps can be reduced, weaknesses can be mitigated. These are good societal aspirations.Originally posted by AK47 View Post

And of course, there is a famous warning, and I paraphrase: "its not what they don't know that concerns me, its how much they know that is wrong"
