Against the better edge rushers, I sure hope they have someone give Pip some chip help...Originally posted by Velo View Post
It seems pretty clear that they are going with Pipkins at RT.
Here we are, year 2 of the Harbaugh era, and the success of the season depends on the play of Trey Pipkins. It's a head-shaking situation. If Pipkins is just good enough, the offense will still work as it was designed for Alt on the right side. Having Pipkins slide from RG to RT is not like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Pipkins is a natural tackle, physically he fits the ideal. Over 6-foot-6, 310ish pounds, long arms. As has been noted, Pipkins has a lot of experience playing RT. It has been observed he is a better tackle than guard, he said this himself a few days ago. He has the experience and the physical talent, he has A LOT of motivation, he's in the final year of his contract, if he plays really well this season and the Chargers make a deep playoff run, he will get a substantial 3rd contract (maybe not from the Chargers but another team). But I still tend to shake my head that so much this season is riding on the performance of a player Chargers fans have been wanting to get rid of since the day he was drafted almost. Somehow he has lasted six seasons...

Is Jedrick Willis still available. I remember him being an athletic high draft pick as an LT prospect in the 2020 draft class. Same draft class that produced Tristin Wirfs.
Maybe he fits more as an inside OL profile, but he should be able to at least provide depth and / or be a swing tackle.

Might have 2 undrafted keepers at corner + another in 7th rd pick Bridges. Hopefully they can put St Juste and Taylor on the PS.

I dont see any way Bridges makes the roster ahead of Taylor or St Juste. He was the worst DB out there today. Looks like a PS project. Nikko Reed looks better alsoOriginally posted by Leslie Grossman View PostMight have 2 undrafted keepers at corner + another in 7th rd pick Bridges.
