We will see how he plays out. I am pretty confident he will go in the first round

I'm sure he will likely go in the 1st but I don't think I would take him. For me it's too big of a gamble to hope he will somehow play better in the NFL then he did in college. To me he is a project.
      My final Mock:

      1) Woods, Peter- DT/Clemson
      2) Pregnon, Emmanuel- OG/Oregon
      3) Moore, Derrick- EDGE/Michigan
      4) Demmings, Charlie- CB/S. F. Austin
      6) Klein, Marlin- TE/Michigan

Give Minter whatever he wants. Younger on the Edge, LB, DB whatever. He can build and coach an elite unit. We're gonna have to win with defense

That just doesn't make sense to me. I understand the dollars but if you are spending an AAV of $18-20m on Mack -- I think the better investment is $26-28m on Higgins
Unless you are just signing Mack for one year and understand with Higgins its like a 4/110 type deal.

I get the need for IOL in free agency but if spending money in free agency - I understand the cap but if its truly between Mack or Higgins, for me, thats a no brainer - unless its medical
I understand that age is a concern. But Khalil has only missed 1 game in the last 3 years for LAC. Meanwhile, Higgins has missed 10 games in the last 2 years for Cincy. I would hope to get Khalil on a 1-year contract @$15m. I find it very hard to believe that Hortiz would spend $26m/year on a WR... one year after letting 2 WR's go @$20m/year.
          Protect the QB
          Run the ball
          Play great defense

Well those were older players and he had no cap to work with, in fact he had to get down from 50 over cap by shedding salary. He is ina very different cap situation this off season.

He hs also seen just how lacking his team in in adequate weapons for his franchise QB when it comes to winning games aganst the good teams. Just as glaring as the IOL was in the playoff game so was the lack of reliable big time receiving wepons beyond one player in Ladd.

I am not stating for certain Hortiz will target Tee, just that it cant be assumed this off season will be exactly like last off season. Tee will be pricy but he is exactly the type of WR this offense lacks.

Tee Higgins is putting the cart before the horse.... most any good NFL QB can put the hurt on an NFL secondary.... if given the time.

Keenan Allen for two years is more than enough firepower for JH10.... in two years, Keenan makes his way, along w/QJ, and by then we will have had two more off-seasons in arrears to restock and reload @WR.

we will be fine.... stock the lines first.

We have ONE receiver that can get separation and beat man coverage. Makes this team very easy to defend. Protection isnt the only reason for a plethora of 3 and outs and long stretches, quarters at a time, where this offense seized up and was totally ineffective.

Blocking is not the only answer or the only thing this team needs to ugrade

If they sign him, it would likely be a 4-yr contract which would put him at 30 y/o where they could let him walk. They could always re-sign/restructure his contract if both parties agree.

I don't know if they are going to spend the money on WR or spend it on the oline. I do know that it's easier to find OGs then top WRs. I just think Higgins would elevate everyone on the offense, but I also get the argument that it doesn't matter if Hebert doesn't have time to pass. Believe me I'm torn between getting top WR Higgins vs top OG Smith. I wish we could both...lol.
That doesn't matter. Higgins runs a 4.54 , he isn't Tyreek Hill. He would be our slowest reciever so that means nothing,...and I don't consider that slow but most everyone seems to think he is some burner.

Lamar had 40 passing TDs this year with the number 1 running game and he had 36 TDs with Roman and the #1 running game.
They have never had a real expensive reciever but they have had good TEs that we do not have.
We had two 20 million WRs with Everett and Parham at TE.

Sure hope so because as a pass rusher he isn't much. Bull rusher who needs to develope something more than that.

Id consider him in round 3.

Trader Joe also just had a front row seat to what resulted from his mini-splash signing of DJ Chark...$3 mil, and we got an injury-plagued question mark of a wideout who was played sparingly even when healthy...I think Hortiz will be very careful to vet all our FA signees this time around...
