looking @the 31 rooks, gonna volunteer a guess that Akeem Dent could have an Asante Samuelike impact @FS, that Zach Heins is TE4, that Rice supplants Palmer in the '025, and CJ the same for Chark next offseason.... that Hart starts in 2025, replacing the departing Kristian Fulton, and that Tarheeb is our starting nickel in the '025, if not the by the end of this season.
LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

I don't agree with all but I like your thought train.

Outside of the Chargers, no other AFC west team was better than 500 those first 3 years of Norvel.

A much more talented Charger team lost to KC in 2010.

A Tim Tebow lead team edged the Chargers out in 2011.

When Norv was fired the following year, he said the Charger were years away from returning to the playoffs.

How many years out of the playoffs would you have stuck with Norv?

        Four, five, six ....?

In year 7, would you have any expectations they would be a Super Bowl quality team?

Zach Heinz is my horse to make it out of the gate.
big, strong blocker with under rated catching skills.

A complete makeover of the TE room.

He already missed practice at the mini camp with an undisclosed injury. Now this. Bad signs for the rookie we are counting on to play a significant role

Velo will have a tough time with his argument. Norv was way past his expiration date when they let him go. And yes, he said they were years away and I think McCoy got them to the playoffs and won a game his first season after Norv. Cooked coach and bad prognositicator.

My thoughts in retrospect: Norv may have been a better coach than Lynn, McVisor and the BS Master … thats not the bar we aim for. None of the above is the correct answer and nitpicking about who is closest to last place will not garner extra credits. Norv’s initial teams were stacked with talent in their prime. Alas prime means not much longer, and AJ turned Ziggy and sucked himself up into his mind and the roster replenishing stopped. as the roster faded Norv failed.

TT built average rosters. Always good enough to generally compete and finish around the 0.500 mark. Never worst, never elite. he was mostly an inside the box common denominator guy, hence he would never beat the house (league) but never lose too much. Some years it drifted up to 10, some years it drifted down to 5, always returning to his mean average of 7 to 8 wins. He likely would have returned to 8 wins this year if still here. None of the post-Norv coaches really had a chance, and none of them really had the coaching talent even if they had better rosters.

None of them is the correct answer.

If your belief is that Mike McCoy was a better head coach than Turner, I cannot agree. My stance is simply that Turner was a better head coach than McCoy, or Lynn, or Staley.

Turner probably was a better coach, but that is a low bar. What a horrible group of coaches.

I wonder if the kids will do anything today ... if only we had some insider, able to report activities, update us on ... anything.

If Heins plays to his size as a blocker, he's Will Dissly's Heir Apparent.

He went undrafted, IMO, mostly because he lacks athleticism. But with his size, if he plays with a lot of desire, he could be a significant asset to the Bolts' offense.

I prefer not to read too much into "undisclosed". He returned to practice in OTAs and hasn't missed any in training camp. I'd hate to dis him for an ingrown toenail.
