??? Velo stated Herbie will play week1. I 100% agree on that too, zero doubt he would play tomorrow if it were a real game. a couple honest questions so I can understand your post:

1. what atmosphere of uncertainty are you referring to, something specific? not aware of any teams fully announcing their Week 1 starting rosters, what is different here?

2. who are in the nobody group that doesnt know what's really going on or what to expect? players/team or us outside watchers? I agree with you he's not giving any info to outsiders without a court order (or rule), if that was your point.

I think what G of Q was saying he wants to keep opposition teams guessing about what's going with the Chargers by not revealing too much. Based on my experience with PF, it's not a debilitating condition unless it's a real severe case, which I don't think Herbert's is. The same day it was announced he'd be taking a few weeks off, he was in practice jumping up with his offensive 'mates and down after scoring a TD. Even if it lingers, it may slow him down a bit, but it won't have a huge impact on his performance.

I'm talking about things like players missing practice, and Harbaugh routinely announcing that every player is "working though something"., with zero clarity about what the injury is, or how serious. There was (seemingly unnecessary) mystery about Junior Colson missing time, when he had undergone an appendectomy.

Kimani Vidal has been invisible, and we have no clarification on why. The QB2 situation is totally unsettled, and Herb remains in a boot. That creates a degree of uncertainty about a vulnerability that does not appear to have been addressed.

Harbaugh has created an "edginess" where anyone other than an undisputed STAR can't feel secure with his roster spot. As I've stated elsewhere, this camp has an environment where complacency cannot set in, because there is a lot of uncertainty.

This is the stuff I'm referring to as 'uncertainty'.

ahhh gotcha - I agree on the comm part. Harbaugh believes loose lips sink ships, no uncontrolled flapping of gums shall occur. Once the season starts (week of Game 1), there are more exact rules for reporting he will have to follow - until then = nada.

Backup QB sticks out right now as unsettled, yep agree. He was not at all pleased with what he saw. Ironic the one guy we didnt see is the one that was cut.

Idunno about Vidal, won't read more into it. I wasnt as impressed with his college tape as others here are, i'm waiting to see how wrong I was. They have stated JK and Gus are the starters, this is a back of roster deep depth question.

I think one of his gifts is to push guys even who are starters to contnue to improve even more.

Posters are so used to pecking at weak Charger decision makers in the past.

Harbaugh/Hortiz have a sense of what it takes to build a winner, and make roster, depth chart competition a daily exercise.

Hortiz calls it "churning the bottom of the roster," and that has starters and key depth pieces constantly hearing footsteps.

no one ran well against a defense stuffing the box becuase 2 of our backups are runners and almost no threat to beat you passing the ball.....

Spiller caught the ball well..... and we know he can run if given some blocking.... patterson also looks good though runnning game is almost non-existant
