I think that is the most likely outcome...Zion may turn it around his second year in this system...his run blocking isnt bad, and will likely improve, and playing next to a center who actually knows how to pass protect should help alot, because I think James can regain his 2023 form in this system...and he was very solid to good, especially in pass pro, that year.

In the meantime, DON'T sign Zion's 5th year option...about midway through the season, evaluate how well he's doing...if he improves, make him a decent offer on a 1+1 or 2+1 contract...if he doesn't sign, let him go for a nice 5th round comp pick...

Sanders shuttle was 4.46 and his 3 cone was 7.39 so he has straight line speed but not real agile at 217 lbs RB.
Vidal is 213 with a 4.15 shuttle and a 7.01 shuttle. Both just cant pass protect and Vidal is a little more agile.

I wouldn't cut or trade our #2 receiver(711 yards) until our 2nd and 5th round WR draft picks have actually proven something.

Don't cut him even after they do. WTH - TPB Folks have been trying to cut our first row of depth since Rd7 ended, some well before that. What is going on around here? This is ridiculous. folks don't remember all of the teams that didn't have depth and what happened next?

Pipkins is our #1 swing OT - he's going nowhere. he's one of the better swing OTs in the league, he probably starts on some teams. what, are they bringing back Sarrell? WTH?
QJ is either starting or #1 backup WR. Haters are so blinded with hate for this one guy its crazy. you keeping Reagor or Rice over him - seriously? WTH?

Mayers is worse than Conklin, btw - huge Raider over-draft whiff (I wanted him at one point pre-draft, big mistake). Zero chance Joe is working any deal of any kind for him - Raiders are looking to dump him for a reason and JH2 like their current TE room more than Mayers. WTH!!!

Damn, people - there's 20 or more players at the bottom of the LAC roster that could be replaced, and folk are busy deleting important players with nothing in their pockets or up their sleeves at all.

lol! Yeah, Zion doesn't get overpowered. He turns the wrong way and gets outplayed.
Becton definitely brings quality experience to the pool. Big in every way. Andre James was a starting Vet. Adding them and subtracting Pip should add stability.
IOL is a project that Harbaugh and his staff absolutely must get right if the Chargers offense intends to shine this year. I guess they think they have the right players.

Tell ya what,. .if Alt goes down and has to miss significant time , we will be looking for another, via trade or whatever. Pip IS better as a OT than he is a OG but that isn't saying much and we wanted him gone from OT as well.
He isn't starting on many other teams.

Where do you think he could start? Maybe somewhere else who has a significant injury but we already seen that movie.

This is a reason we won't get any comp picks next year because guys like Pip won't get much money so Joe didn't hold back signing FAs to have us qualify.

Pip, Dupree, Gilman, Harris, MW, Conklin, ....we signed all them cheap. Need all them to sign for at least 3 mil for us to get a 7th. Maybe Heinicke brings that, but we won't qualify for any comps.

Comp picks aren't all that but he likes them and holding on to Pipkins if we can get a better OL somehow is a must. If we can, I can see him trading.him but til then, he won't.

I agree with the "hold the axe" sentiment...and Im sure Jim does too, unless there is a disgruntlement or attitude issue with a vet that gets demoted...

But not your take on Mayer...would love him on this team...Raiders didnt use him enough, and then they drafted an instant all pro, generational prospect...fresh start under Jim and Roman? He would be good here...at worse a long term grade A TE2...ceiling would be poor man's Gronk

Agree, i saw KLS as a competitor to QJ, not Davis but he might bring us versatility as well and why i said QJ could be traded at some point. They cant be happy with his drops. He has been feast or famine though he has been improving. This TC and preseason should determine a lot for him.

KLS is said to have return capability but doesnt look like he was used there. Maybe that means he said he is willing to do it to give him more flexibility to make a team. We'll see if they try him there.

I got nothing against Davis, he will keep improving but he goes down with arm tackles on reverses if there isnt a hole, he is real small and not used much as a WR which is all i got to say on him as a negative.

Good punt returner but ideally you would want your return guy to be able to also play reciever, RB or CB....whichever their possition is and not just a return guy. Also ill throw in, that Rice has returned KO's in college and has one punt return, that went for a 81 yard TD. Not sure if he said he is willing to do that to help himself and i dont see him being tried there but he has done it.....most of it at Colorado.

All im saying is, there is competition and we should see what ALL our guys can do. The team is getting better. Looks like we got a few good UDFAs as well. The TE/FB looks much better than Matlock. I think Matlock might be cut.

That was my initial guess anyway. I know Hortiz like WRs who have flexibility that can play both inside and out but that is how I see the top 6 battling it out. Fitzgerald would be one of the WRs I would keep an eye on. He could potentially make a move in preseason. Can't wait to see these battling it out during preseason.

In regard to QJ, I really want to see him improve more this season. I'm pulling for and he will likely be my adopted bolt. He kinda got screwed and was but in a bad position by bad coaches. I really hope he can just be himself this year without having the pressure of being "the guy".
