I am as excited about Harbaugh and the new culture as much as anyone....but can we beat a playoff team maybe before we claim the Chargers have arrived as a SB contender?

At the bye, after the next 2 games seems like a good time to guage where the Chargers are in the hierarchy.

no kidding. and if we lose a game or two, we'll start seeing threads about which player needs to be cut, and which coach needs to be fired.

Sunday will be interesting because we will be playing another bully that runs the ball and has a very good and physical defense. Might be a barometer if we have enough at the skill positions to make the difference. We have the QB that should be the difference.

Wk 10 might be a fair time to measure stats and argue their significance. Wk 4 is a little early. Being 4-0 will be good is but not the actual Lombardi trophy.

Currently the Steelers are struggling on offense, KC is amazingly weak on D. They're vulnerable. Last year's history was last year's news.

Consider the schedule.

Carolina is the worst rated defense in the entire NFL.

Steelers are ranked #1 and Chiefs #5.

I’m going to have to see how the offense competes over the next two weeks before handing out trophies.

Everyone is saying they beat a bad Raiders team. That same "bad" Raiders team went into Baltimore and beat a "good" Ravens team. Ravens didn't do what the Chargers did when they had the lead. They didn't shut them down when they had the lead. That is what good teams do.

If Chargers are 3-1 at the bye, it will be a statement to the league they are a playoff caliber team. 4-0 and they are in the SB contention discussion.
