I will post it again and I'm sure those folks will not like to hear it once again...in my defense there's an established track record AND Hortiz already said in the presser that his primary focus will be to retain our internal guys before looking at anything else and it makes sense, you don't want your guys to hit the market...they might pursue one high priced free agent to replace Bozeman...
I'm not 100% sure that they will automatically cut Becton. I wonder if the new OC and O-line coaches might be allowed to decide whether or not Becton stays or goes...
It's not going to be sexy and it's not going to be splashy but Hortiz is going to load up on depth again, one MAYBE two positions on O-line will be addressed in the free agency and probably both in the draft, O-line will be a focus for sure, how much remains to be seen but if I've learned anything from watching how Hortiz works in his short time with the Chargers he attacks positions in bunches and I think O-line is going to get a big infusion of young blood in this coming draft...
other areas where the draft will hit will include improving depth at TE and Edge

Me....? I'm gonna trust my eyes... and the eyes of everyone here at TPB. The OL players sucked. I'm going to predict that Harbaugh/Hortiz won't go with that same OL next year. I predict that almost all of this year's starters won't be on the roster. Which of these OL players do you predict will be back next year: Austin Decalus, Bobby Hart, Trevor Penning, Jamaree Salyer, Mekhi Becton, Bradley Bozeman, Andre James, Zion Johnson...?
I have one of them (Bozeman) as a backup. And would jump up-and-down if he were cut and a better back-up were signed.Protect the QB

I think this will be the plan of Hortiz . Like you said, bring back Oweh and Tartt, extend Tuli. I am not as sold on Zion - but the options at OG might be limited and he would be more cost-effective than say David Edwards. Though, per PFF, Edwards is 19 and Zion is 51. But maybe with a better Center and OL coach- he will continue to improve as both Hortiz and Harbaugh like ZionOriginally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

Chargers did not have a first round pick from 94 through 97. Nothing to do with Leaf. Maybe that was Alex Spanos being a cheap ass?
Beathard was great his first 4 years, exactly like AJ Smith.
