Yep...What are these fans going to say when we beat KC on Sunday! The Chargers are still on track to win at least 10 games!

Having said that... I don't see us beating KC without our 2 OT's... and a hobbled QB.Protect the QB
Run the ball
Play great defense

I think we will be clicking in the second half of the season while getting better each week. The OL needs to gel together, timing with receivers will get better. Palmer may even be healed by then lol. Bosa may be ready to play a couple games by then.Originally posted by Boltnut View Post
It's Week 3 of an 18-week season.
Sprained ankles, sprained MCL's, and strained pectorals will heal with rest and time.
Most of the pre-season darlings are @1-2 or 0-3... Dolphins, Browns, Ravens, Bengals, Cowboys, 49ers.
Is everyone counting them out?
Denver and Las Vegas are at 1-2...
After Week 1 it was reported that our win over LV was meaningless... then the Raiders beat the Ravens.
After Week 2 it was reported that our win over Carolina was meaningless... then they beat the Raiders (who were coming off a Ravens win).
Before one-legged Herbie hobbled off the field... we were tied 10-10 vs the 3-0 Man-handling Steelers. Slater and Alt soon followed.
Among the 3-0 teams are the: Geno Smith led Seahawks, Sam Darnold led Vikings, and the Justin Fields led Steelers...
Everyone was fawning over Harrison, Nabers, Odunze, and Bowers. Collectively, their teams are 4-8.
Quentin Johnson couldn't catch a ball in training camp... but hasn't dropped a pass (3 TD's).
Everyone knew Malik Nabers would be good... but to this point in the season... he's the one who dropped a game winning/losing pass.
Everybody has their own narrative. How about we save our judgements until Week 18...?
It's not how you start though you don't want to dig a hole for your self like Cinci did tonight. It's how you finish. Finish strong. We aren't playing our best football yet.
But after week 5, no more byes and it's a long stretch. Hopefully if Herb sits this one out he feels much better by week 6.
Just sux we play KC on Sunday with the injuries.Last edited by Boltjolt; 09-23-2024, 09:10 PM.

Nabers is a very good player. I was saying for me I wanted Bowers but understand the Alt pick. it was the right pick for us.Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post
I am fine with Alt, it is Sewell and Chase agian. Both are fine picks
I was really responding after a few comments to the effect..."Nabers would not be a good pick for Harbaugh led Chargers" WTF is that? Nabers is a stud that would be a weapon on any NFL team.
Chargers will not start finally beating playoff level NFL teams without a good passing game. The good team can shut down Dobbins.
But I'd still have picked Bowers over Nabers in a trade down and got an extra pick. But I'm fine with Alt. Glad we have him and he has done well.

Start Heineke, a week of prep, punchers chance.Originally posted by Topcat View Post

activate Vidal, stick to the run.
A good game for Q to attack the middle with Bolton hurt.
Salyer to LT
Tony Jefferson replaces DJ
take a look at Mustipher for OC
And here is where I'll y'all---Start Leatherwood at ORT.
He's the better run blocker than Sarell.
Run run Q, run run Hurst, run run Q, etc.
Shock the damn world.
No to a 3peat!20 year storm approaching
#1 seed in 2026

Also Harbaugh said Pip was our swing OT so he is playing at one of the OT spots.
Not sure who the other is but I'd guess Sarrell and Salyer will be at RG.
How cringe is that?

I reckon Sayler played better at LT than RG

I said that last week….funny how herbie will play at 70% and Bosa won’t at 98%.Originally posted by Topcat View Post

we need to start a Tread of who will not be back next year;
1. Bosa - we get nothing in return.
2. Derwin - possibly a 3rd rd pick?

with Heineke onboard (a legit QB), I think the question will be if Heineke at 100% is better than Herbert at less than 100%.Originally posted by 21&500 View Post

we may have a better shot at winning the game with Heineke, period. on the plus side, we would also be resting up Herbert and not risking further injury.
