Maybe, but signing Harris doesn't mean that they are not going to take a RB in early. It doesn't mean anything other than they filled a hole. I would be more inclined to believe they wouldn't pick a RB early if they would have signed Harris to a 3-4 yr deal but they only signed him to a 1-yr deal.

When you are proclaiming to be a run heavy offense and want to dominate running the ball you don't pass up a stud running back just because you signed a RB to a 1-yr deal. It makes no sense and that's not how you build a team for the future.

You know it’s funny, we would want nothing more than for the interior o line and interior d line to be in good shape right now and we’d be fully advocating as we have for months now to draft Omarion Hampton.

Actually to build a successful running team, you 1st need a dominating offensive line. The RB is irrelevant.

Why would you spend 10 MIL on a RB only to have him be a depth piece and a back up to a rookie?
He's Starting all year as they develop a mid round RB to be eventual starter.

Najee will be the featured back and the rookie will get carries as well, sort of like Detroit does with it's two RB's.

I would love that but I cant agree. Too many other needs and these guys prioritize the line of scrimmage, both of which need help. I dont see a RB before rounds 4 or 5. Unless they fall in love with a guy with a unique skill set like Tuten who could go in 3rd.

This is Harris last year.... looks pretty dynamic to me....runs with power, elusiveness, can block, catch, hurdles over defenders, runs them over and plays EVERY single game!!!...DURABLE---Chargers have not had a durable RB since LT in his prime......

This true. My point is that Harris signing has nothing to do with what they are going to do in the draft. Yes, they can take one later in the draft but there is usually why an RB is being picked late in the draft and most of the time it's because they are weak in pass pro. Vidal is a good example of that.

If they go Hampton in the first, if he somehow fell to them, I would not be a shocked because they would come out and say we want to run the ball! They could always go OG in the 2nd or 3rd if they did! I think a guy like Jack Nelson could be a hidden gem if they were to draft Hampton, but I'm pretty sure Pit wants Hampton at this point.

Well, I don't know if that's true or not, but it is a very deep draft in running backs.

There appear to be five or six who could be gone by the time the second round is over. I think it's very likely that Harbaugh and Hortiz will take one of them or another in the tier below, which I think very likely could be gone by time the third round is over.

We shall see.
