How do you know they are keeping Stick on the 53 and cutting someone else? That is also not masterly!
If they keep stick it's because of reasons outside of the GMs control, as for Huntley, the browns played hardball and got nothing, he's available because the Chargers were the primary trade partner, otherwise the browns would still be negotiating with other teams... now we can swoop in and have double insurance for Justin and all it cost the team was a 7th round pick...I have to imagine that Huntley might have some interest in coming out west, so if he ends up getting two quarterbacks for the price of one will you be impressed then?

I am already impressed with Hortiz and delighted with the Heineke upgrade! I was just playing devils advocate. Clearly the Browns played hardball and over played their hand. There is even the possibility the Chargers like Heineke better even though Hortiz knows Huntley. It also means he knows his limitations.

I am really hoping they dont cut a player like Rice to keep a clearly useless Stick and unneccessary 3rd QB on the roster though.

we'll find out today, Huntley does know the offense so if anyone is poised to help our QBs to learn it, he's the guy, it makes sense to add Huntley to the practice squad, he's not subject to waivers so he can sign with us if he chooses...of course bringing in Huntley would mean that there would be no justification for keeping Stick around in any way, on the 53 or on the PS...

that's still pretty damn good in my book, he's as fast as a lot of DBs in the NFL and faster than most all linebackers...plus if you see him on highlights, once he takes off he's going full speed, 0 to 60 happens very quickly...poof and he's fucking gone...

it would be ideal to have Huntley in the mix along with Herbert and Heinicke...will it happen tho? IDK, Stick has a powerful advocate in the FO, maybe Huntley doesn't come anywhere near the bolt, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he does make it out here, especially since it would mean Easton is done, gone, bye bye...

Huntley cut today. We can still claim him and he knows the offense, and we can release Stick.

Yes, pretty fast for a QB. I think that's about what Herbert clocked. Mind you Heinicke was timed almost 10 years ago when he was 22.

I don’t think Huntley is going to sign with a team to be 3rd string unless he has no other offers.
And I would be surprised if the Chargers care enough to roster a 3rd QB at this point.

going from shit backup situation to one of the best backup situations in the league in a matter of 2-3 days would be memorable...

What's your thinking Boltjolt, that Huntley would be a PS QB or roster him as a third QB? I would prefer not to roster three, but I'm not making the decisions. I would like to release Stick altogether though and let him find a new home.
