Second week in a row we are at another team's home opener (Steelers started the season with 2 games on the road).

We kinda look like mirror image teams right now.

We're supposed to have a significant advantage at QB

During the KC/CINN game, Jim Nantz said he and Tony Romo will be calling the Chargers/Steelers game. They also have the featured game in week 4, KC@LAC.

            Who has the better Justin?

After today's game I am convinced that whatever few running plays they have for Herbert...they should just scrap. Not calling the guy quite injury prone (yet)...but you get where I'm going with this. Just not worth it. A lot of money has been invested in this OL - use it. Herbert is no Josh Allen. I know today's injury wasn't on a designed run, but that's exactly my point, he just can't take too much abuse.

well, I've just learned that Justin Fields is on par with Herbert at qb by reading this thread

It's going to be a tough, physical game on the road. I think we're going to need Herbert to make at least a few clutch plays in the passing game to pull this one out. No turnovers.

Going into this season, this was the first game I wasn't confident we would win. After watching us play the first two weeks, I feel much better, but it's still going to be a battle.

Why? Herbert has never been hurt running the ball.

Herbert actually may do a lot of running against the Steelers, who play a lot of man coverage, which opens up a lot of field for a mobile QB to exploit. Remember the 2021 game v the Steelers? Herbert led the offense with 90 yds rushing on 9 carries.

                        Is this a serious question?

i could see saving them for the big games (like KC), but they need to be designed as "slide before contact" run plays (or run to your right/left and then straight out of bounds).

no bullshit about a few extra yards in exchange for an injury. rule #1: slide before contact.
