I read somewhere recently Weddle was trying to recruit him. Maybe they are willing to overpay for Woody too. To get even with Balt, we should sign Ray Rice.

McCluster is nothing like Woodhead as a player.

Woodhead is a special player because he has short area quickness that lets him explode in and out of his cuts. He can get instant seperation, whether as a runner or receiver. He was good in pass protection, and just kept the chains moving on 3rd down. Best 3rd down back in football by a mile.

McCluster still has some speed, but he is poor in pass protection, not a very good runner and doesn't really run pass patterns well. I'm fine if we want to bring him back as a camp body, but he isn't an answer. I find it hard to believe he will even earn a roster spot let alone do anything noteworthy.

I dont think this is inaction by TT....he was rumoured to make him an offer. Challenge is how to value a guy that missed major time to injuries the last 2 years and is coming off an ACL. I love Woody but whats a fair price? Will he be healthy? Hes also getting up there in age?

Id prefer to have him vs not but cost is important considering Gordon is positioned more as a 3 down back.

I don't think they'll rest with just Gordon, Oliver and McCluster as the 3rd down back. Woodhead was great, but he's also 32 and wanted more money than we were offering, apparently. Can't fault Telesco for that.
