Understand, despite Herbert's great start, he is now 50 percent passing in this game. This is kinda the player he is -- really. The Bengals have done a good job speeding him up, where his poor footwork comes out and then he doesn't connect on throws how he should.

I don't know that there are any leaders on the field who can inspire someone to step up and make a play. Khalil is probably the only one.

Herbert isn't him, now it's obvious. You can only rely on him just like you would an Alex Smith -- only if he has a monster, dominant run game to fall back on.

Since the D has given up 21 in the 2nd half. It’s time for them to create a TO. But Herbert needs to hit that throw. He makes so many incredible throws and misses some layups.

He just hasn't proven he is mentally elite unfortunately. The physical attributes are there but that isn't enough.
