He's also shifty for a big man, he was returning kickoffs for the 'Hawks this season and returned one for 97 yds to the house earlier this year. I think of him as a poor, poor man's Deebo. The fact that Hortiz picked him up means something. Hortiz has proven he knows how to evaluate talent and bring in players who over-achieve. He's had a few misses (Bozeman, Hurst) but most of his acquisitions have been gold.

Deebo doesn’t really seem like Deebo anymore, btw. He had one monster year, i think it was 3 years ago. Hasn’t looked fully the same since. He is not close to the most significant part of SF offense, he’s more like #4-ish on the skill player pecking order there. Of course if we pick up our #4 contributor off the street, thats great.
I am all for seeing what he’s got if coaches see something in practices, I doubt he’s ready this week after just a couple days on the team.
I don't think anyone has any aspirations that these guys are foundational players for the future.
Look at the Chiefs and the value they got out of castoffs like Hardman and Tooney.
It's a double edged sword too, these guys are on the street for a reason. Reagor, for example, probably cost us the game against the Cardinals with that fumble into the end zone. Don't want a guy like Shenault fumbling the game away, but I trust Harbaugh to pick and choose spots for these guys to contribute.

Popper's analysis this week of how teams shut down the Chargers offense focused on shifting from zone to man. The only guy that can beat man coverage is Conk and they doubled him in the 2nd half against Atl. The Chiefs play more man than most and will certainly play it even more against the Chargers. Do we have a counter?

Surprised that Johnston can't beat anyone.
Poor route runner, bad hands, can't adjust for football, small catch radius, poor hand fighting skills, tall, not high top end speed .... good job TT! Checked off all your boxes.
