If the Chargers were in the same spot as the Chiefs, I'd definitely rest my starters. Nothing to gain by playing them. Mahomes needs to rest that ankle.

I see Pitts losing to Cinn. Chargers are #5 and trounce that Texan team. Chiefs vs Chargers in the divisional round at Arrowhead. This will be a dog-fight. Hope all the key players for both teams are healthy. Chiefs maybe favored by 2? This could be a lengendary game.
Note: I hope Charger fans start giving up the Ref narrative. You guys have proven you can beat KC. No excuses. The future is YOURS. ENJOY a True RIVALRY.
Note: Going forward the Chargers should take over the AFC West. You had a great draft. You have a ton of cap space. You have plenty of draft picks with a proven GM and Head Coach. You have an Elite QB.
Chiefs have an elite QB, great GM and Head Coach. Very little cap space. Fewer draft picks. Aging stars on huge contracts. Lots of key free agents and little money to sign them. Rashee Rice facing suspension after recovering from injury next season. Likely a wild card team for a few seasons. Must retool.

Chargers personnel wise aren't yet at a level where you can say they can contend for a Super Bowl, but as you said, they have cap and draft picks for next season's team.

I am guessing it changes a lot after today's games.

This is Chargers fans best chance for a home game for the rest of the year and I hope that stadium has a heavy powder blue presence for this game. I’m also hoping we absolutely steamroll the Raiders and have them questioning their manhood heading into the offseason. Destroy them even with the backups and as we all know Telesco depth is shit. Destroy them.

I woke up a little while ago from a dream in which I was a race car owner and Ladd McConkey was my driver.
With Derius Davis suddenly looking like Tank Dell, Justin Herbert now has two WRs with 4.3ish speed who can wreak havoc on opposing coverages. It's going to be like having two Zay Flowers, only faster.
With Stone Smartt suddenly looking like Mike Williams, the passing game is now getting production from the TE position. Even Tucker freakin' Fisk is getting involved. Smartt is playing with increased confidence. He runs routes and makes catches like he knows he's the DB's daddy. He dominates, he rips the ball away and says, "that's effin' mine you shrimp!" He knows he's a physical mismatch for anybody trying to cover him. And he was a star basketballer in high school. Is QJ ever going to figure out he's a physical mismatch against almost every DB covering him and start using that to his advantage?

Let’s win one for Mack.
