LAC will get an extra day vs a normal week, whether its work, rest, somewhere in between (film study/meetings only) on some days? I'm sure coaches will be working Sunday morning and players will have that day off to watch football and nurse sore bits.

KC will be rusty after mailing in yesterday and then having this week off, thats my hope anyway.

One game at a time, as many here say. Lets go beat the Texans. I know we can.
    Mojo for Slater's knee.

If both of them won, we'd then get a home game against PIT?

BUT - if PIT and BUF wins, PIT gets KC and we get BUF? If DEN and BAL win, we get BAL and DEN gets KC?
** I'd rather play KC personally.

Best way to think is just be ready to play whoever is in front of you. One game at a time, assume you have to beat everyone or anyone.

Yes correct. The assumption in the brackets is that the Ravens and Bills both win. If one or both lose the lower seed would play KC. That would not be us.
Of course we'd have to beat Houston first and foremost. At this point don't really care about the rest. In order to be the best we would have to beat the best,
or whoever stands in our way.

        CJ Stroud took a significant step backward. As a rook in 2013: 319 completions, 4108 yds, 23 TDs, 5 INT, 100.8 rating. 2024: 336 completions, 3727 yds, 20 TD, 12 INT, 87.0 rating.

He doesn't have a lot to work with in the passing game. His only solid WR is Nico Collins, who was limited to 12 games due to injury, but still managed 1008 yds receiving and 7 TDs. He lost (DD clone) Tank Dell to injury again late in the season. TE Dalton Schultz is only average: 50 catches, 532 yds, 2 TDs - Will Dissly type numbers. None of his other pass catchers are worth mentioning to be honest. Collins and Dell did most of the heavy lifting, and after the loss of Dell, C.J.'s production took a nose-dive. They out-waivered the Chargers for Diontae Johnson, but so what?

Stroud was also sacked 52 times this season, second only to Caleb Williams.

Nico Collins does pose a problem. He played college ball for Jim Harbaugh at Mich, drafted in the 3rd rnd by the Texans in 2021. He was decent but not great his first two seasons, but when CJ Stroud arrived last year he had a breakout season: 1300 yds/8TDs. He started this season on fire, the hottest WR in the league, until he was sidelined by a hamstring injury in week 5.

The Chargers coulda had Nico Collins btw. He was on the board when Telesco drafted Joshua Palmer at #77 in 2021; Collins went at #89.

We can only hope that QJ does what Collins did: break out after two seasons. QJ now has two full seasons of experience. QJ exploded onto the scene in week 18. Is that because the Raiders didn't game plan for him well enough due to his struggles and were more focused on stopping McConkey? Or is this the new QJ, a WR who will be a factor in every game, forcing defenses to account for him, pairing with McConkey to form an elite WR duo? Or was his phenomenal play in Las Vegas yesterday an anomaly? We will find out in the playoffs.

Hoping that Ben Herbert's training techniques have strengthened Slater's knee and prevented disaster.

Yes but somebody posted IF we play KC the following Sunday we would have 6 days rest. Two problems there.
              1. If we play KC the following week it would be on Saturday, just as you said.
              2. If for some unknown reason we would play KC on Sunday, we would have 7 days rest not 6.

Herbert is owning his "inner asshole" like Peyton Manning did after coming out of Tennessee clean-cut and versed in "coach speak"
the yards record he broke from Manning makes his comp even more appropriate, eeirly similar trajectories.
Herbert is growing into his role in front of our eyes.

Stroud throws more picks than Herbert, 11- 3 and their D gives up more points, 21.9 to 17.7 on avg.
It's a single L tourney and they know it. We can expect their best.
They went from 5 - 1 to 10 - 7, QB has regressed from last year, and Diggs, among others, on IR.

Chargers should win, because Herbert is playing great, and the offense has grown. Houston’s defense will be a test. They are capable of winning to be sure.

Chargers played 9 road games, and no opponent scored more than 20 points - an NFL record. This is a road game.

After looking more into it, Will Anderson, while not completely healthy yesterday, could have played if there was a good reason to against the Titans. One of Houston's starting defensive tackles, Folorunso Fatukasi, hasn't played since December 15, though. He's been dealing with an ankle injury. He was listed as questionable for yesterday's game but didn't play. I wonder if he'll suit up against us.

Denico Autry, a reserve defensive end, also missed yesterday's game, but I think he would have played if the Texans hadn't already won the AFC South. Autry isn't a great player, but he has hung around the NFL for a while and makes a play here and there. He had 11.5 sacks for the Titans last season and three with the Texans this year.

The Texans' rotation at defensive end is pretty good. The rotation of Will Anderson, Danielle Hunter, Derek Barnett (five sacks in a reserve role), and Denico Autry is a deep unit. Tim Settle, Jr. is a pretty good defensive tackle on the inside, too. He has five sacks this season. If Fatukasi plays, I think we might see DeMeco Ryans take him out and have Anderson, Hunter, Settle, and Barnett rushing on passing downs. I imagine Ryans will look to expose our guards by lining Anderson and Hunter across from them on at least a few obvious passing downs.
