As I predicted Joe Mixon was a problem. Ironically we didn’t look at him in the off season.

You need skill. Look at Derrick Henry running all over the Steelers and yall didn’t want him in the off season.

You gotta run the football in the playoffs.

This team has got to bring in players who compliment what Herbert does.

Could we have even afforded either of them?

For whatever it is worth, Ladd set a rookie record for receiving yards in a playoff game (188).

He had 197 yards. The entire rest of the team had 45 yards total.

Rivers would have won that football game today as well as the defense played early on. PRs late game turnovers were generally a result of Telesco built defenses and special teams getting pushed around early and giving up big leads (see New England ‘18 game) then trying to come back from double digits down late behind a Telesco built Oline, which, as bad as this current line is, overall they’re quite a bit better than anything Rivers ever played behind in the Telesco era.

Rivers never had tackles half as good as Herbert has now. Take the current interior line and plug in similar guys at all 5 positions on the line and that’s basically what Rivers was working with every year from ‘09 going forward.

I think so too, in regards to Rivers, simply because the couple of years where Rivers had good to great defenses (excl. 2010 because of ST), he was able to do something with that in the postseason.

Seems pedestrian to me. It's not like Herbert threw for 40 TDs even with the low total yardage stats. Nothing about passing for 3600 yards and 65% completion percentage screams elite or even great. Especially considering where we spent a good chunk of the season mostly kicking field goals.

And he's always learning a new offensive system or scheme, almost every year. At this point, he should own the offense and run it himself given his intellectual capacity and metrics.

Like I said before is it pedestrian with this IOL and WR/TE core? Fix the IOL, get a WR, get a true pass catching TE, and a mauling RB and see what his #'s look like.

Herbert had the 9th most passing yards in the NFL this season, despite missing 3 weeks in camp and battling through 2 bad ankle injuries. Not to mention he played with Ladd, a very inconsistent QJ and a bunch of stiffs at WR, Dissley as TE1, a sporadic running game and one of the worst interior lines in all of football. Honestly, the numbers are impressive given what he had to work with.

At this point Harbaugh might have to pull a line from AJ Smith's bag and tell Herbert "your career will not be in vain" just to salvage this guy's head space.

Statistically this was his best year.

improve Herbert's IOL, get him a legit TE, improve the WR corps, and get him a solid back to help carry the load...once all that happens this offseason don't tell me people won't be excited and back in force ready for the 2025 season...only the most diluted amongst us are going to deny that they knew this was always going to be about 2025 and not 2024...
