Has Matthew Golden passed Tetairoa McMillan as WR1?

Kiper's latest mock featured a notable flip-flop in his receiver rankings. Golden went 16th overall to the Arizona Cardinals, four picks ahead of McMillan. In his previous mock, McMillan went two picks ahead of Golden.

That doesn't necessarily mean Golden is guaranteed to go ahead of McMillan. It does, however, highlight Golden's recent rise and the budding trend of placing the Texas speedster ahead of the Arizona giant.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
    Let’s win one for Mack.

A DB at #22? I really hadn't given that much consideration, but it is possible.

There is so much divergence in "experts" opinions, who know how the Bolts rank this class.

I hope Burden, Golden and Ebuka all have "passed" and that leaves the Chargers McMillan at 22

Kiper did his first 2 round mock out today.

Chargers get Grey Zabel and Mason Taylor. I could live with that.

I wouldn't kick them out of the party bus. Big Taylor fan, Zabel - eh, if JH2 see it, I trust. I don't think he's best value at 22 personally.

Kiper is a phony spray-tan aquanet combover douchebag too, so there's that ...

I see Zabel mocked to both the Bengals and Chargers - and I don't get it

The Bengals need defense - all three levels - draft some OG in Round 4 and call it good with that offense.

And the Chargers - they have so many other pressing needs than a LG in R1. Not to say they shouldn't draft IOL at some point but I am guessing Round 3 and after
Rounds 1 and 2 for sure should be WR, Edge, TE, IDL or possibly RB

Zabel is the one lineman I have time for at 22, want no part of Booker.

Zabel is a really good run blocker and his versatility is really valuable, now and in the future. Can play T, G and C...and has the most potential in this draft to be a high level center. You could be talking your next Linsley for many years to anchor the o line

I will say that Golden's speed is oh so enticing. But does it matter?

The 10 Fastest 40-Yard Dash Runs by Wide Receivers

The list of the fastest receivers in combine history isn't loaded with players who went on to star in the NFL. There is a lot more to being a receiver than running fast. That said, there are recognizable names up and down the top 10 (which, due to ties, technically includes 12 players).

Worthy comes in first at 4.21, while Ross is second at 4.22. Henry Ruggs III and Marquise Goodwin both clocked in at 4.27, while Tyquan Thornton, J.J. Nelson and Jacoby Ford are just behind at 4.28. Darrius Heyward-Bey became a top 10 pick after running 4.30 in 2009. Velus Jones Jr., Parris Campbell, Andy Isabella and Curtis Samuel are all tied at 10th after running 4.31.
                      Xavier Worthy 4.21 2024
                      John Ross 4.22 2017
                      Henry Ruggs III 4.27 2020
                      Marquise Goodwin 4.27 2013
                      Tyquan Thornton 4.28 2022
                      J.J. Nelson 4.28 2015
                      Jacoby Ford 4.28 2010
                      Darrius Heyward-Bey 4.30 2009
                      Velus Jones Jr. 4.31 2022
                      Parris Campbell 4.31 2019
                      Andy Isabella 4.31 2019
                      Curtis Samuel 4.31 2017

Who were the fastest receivers at the 2024 combine?

Worthy was the fastest receiver at the 2024 combine, but several other receivers clocked in with blazing times. LSU wideout Brian Thomas Jr. finished in second place at 4.33, while Worthy's Texas teammate Adonai Mitchell was third at 4.34. North Carolina's Devontez Walker (4.36) and Arizona's Jacob Cowing (4.38) rounded out the top five.

Four players tied for sixth at 4.39, including Georgia's Ladd McConkey, South Carolina's Xavier Legette, Michigan's Roman Wilson and Oregon State's Anthony Gould.

Of that group, Thomas, Worthy and Legette were first-round picks, while McConkey and Mitchell were second-rounders. Walker were selected in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens, while Cowing Wilson and Gould went undrafted.

it would be like last year: meat and potatoes in RD1, and then the sizzle in RD2.

I can’t take a guy *Booker that measured last in his large combine group in every possible measure either. Maybe he works out, and I’m wrong. idunno - I can live with the miss - the risk he’s another in a long line of lead-footed Bama slugs is too big for me to bite.
