You're acting like Hortiz gave him an insane contract. He didn't. If Harris hits his incentives he will prove to be worth the $9.25 million.
I would rather have those money somewhere else with historical RB class.

As you can see the only GM who actually has cap and picks, paid to RB this year is Hortiz.

Minny has not got picks so they had to sign RB. Noone else pays RBs this year apart of Barkley.

Due to unique draft situation Harris is overpaid asset.

I hope Harris gets paid the full 9.25. It means he is killing it on the field.

This will not stop Hortiz from drafting a running back in the first three rounds if he thinks one is the best player available. The Lions made a bigger commitment to David Montgomery with a two-year contract in 2023 and still drafted Jahmyr Gibbs in the first round. With the way Harbaugh wants to run the football, I think the Harris signing shows he wanted a more reliable veteran presence to be his #1 and have a young stud to back him up this season. Hortiz may also draft a running back late to compete with Vidal for the #3 spot.

Thats a good example I hope the Chargers will follow, get your bigger volume RB and compliment him with a more explosive back from this good RB draft.

If Roman is serious about running the ball (and I tend to believe this) he will advocate strongly for "his" rb in the draft.
signing Najee doesn't stop me from drafting an RB round 1 (assuming we sign at least 1 guard in FA)
            Realistically it would be
            Najee with Hampton
            Or
            Judkins or Henderson
If you want to run it 40 times a game, why the hell not??
            HAMMER TIME
            (can't touch him)

Being on a one year deal Najee will be playing for a contract whether here or somewhere else.

That doesn’t matter. The fact is they signed him. He was never going to get a big contract.

Omarion Hampton will be our Jamry Gibbs.

The running back is back. The running back team won the Super Bowl. And were the only ones who paid a running back and bought a running back in and signed a running back.

it’s not our fault that other teams were stupid and ignorant and didn’t sign a running back.

I would LOVE that. I think Hampton goes earlier than #22... but if he doesn't!

The RB group is only going to be as good as the OL lets them.

That being said, I like Harris. He lacks the breakaway element, which is why his average per carry is on the low-ish side. His median is actually very good, which is why I think he is undervalued. Adding a guy with a breakaway element to compliment Harris would really help the running game have that killer element late in games.

But we have to add some OL help or it doesn't matter who plays RB.

Saquon Barckley ran for about 900 yards behind the Giants OL in 2023 (14 games)
He ran for 2000+ behind the Eagles one. (16 games).
