According to Lindys Pro Football, the DL is the weak link of the Chargers
    They see Hand-Tart-Ogbonnia for starters
Can Caldwell make big contribution ?
    Eboigbe ?
Are we gonna miss Poona ?

The bar is very low here.
LOL...okay, okay...so it's the Battle of the Bums...Titanic Tillery vs. Flaky Fluke...

        Thank you.

I don't agree with Lindy's write up about we're weak on DL. We might be but that would mean they know our players better than our GM and coaches.
Elston is pretty stoked. We're clearly bigger and will have a full off season and training camp together. The returning players will be better, that's a lock.
Hand and Jones are vets with the potential to play solid team ball and Caldwell is a rookie stud who'll get more snaps as he shows what he can do.
I believe our DL will be a pleasant surprise to our insecure fans. Harbaugh, Hortiz, Ben Herbert, Minter and Elston aren't putting a weak unit on the field. I'm very much looking forward to camp, etc where we finally get to see some big uglies in pads.

I wish Poona well. He got to cash in on his experience with us.

I should mention, our D will get more bench time as our offense controls the ball and the clock.

Its a question mark, for sure! The interior of the DL was supposedly the weak link last year.
They were light on the interior and teams at times could run on them .... more than one would like.

They have a lot more mass on the interior now than last year, and a hell of a lot more than anything Staley/Telesco put together.

You are also missing someone: Naquon Jones.
Between all their pieces, I think they'll get two that will stand out and get the most playing time.

          Caldwell just needs to contribute.

Who will have a better upcoming season: Jamaree Caldwell or Jerry Tillery?
Chiefs need Tillery to perform well.

It's that they know better than our coaches and GM, it's the whole league that knows better. The Chargers got a bunch of castoffs that anyone could have had.

The Chargers did it last year and succeeded. So maybe they know what works best for them. Or maybe they hit the inside straight on the river.

But it's not like the rest of the NFL establishment thinks these guys are great and the these writers disagree.

Ah, but many times elite coaching and scheme can elevate a mediocre castoff into a decent player...and a decent castoff into a very good player...

The writers are boobs: what they say is inconsequential.

Charger opponents right now are not drawing up run heavy schemes when facing the Chargers.
They know as little as us.

The quality of a defense is never the sum of its parts. Don't believe me? Just ask brandon staley

Professional sports journalists are a lot like TPB members: Some are intelligent, understand the game of football, and express their thoughts/opinions/arguments in an articulate manner. And there are also idiots.

I trust this scheme and Elston even more this year. To see what they did with the players they had last year and do what they did on the Dline, I think they will be just as good or better. With Tart, Hand and Tito bringing up the front, then Jones, Eboigbe and Caldwell bringing up the rear, they will be just fine.
