Conklin from what i saw has great hands and is a versatile pass catcher with size. Dissley was a surprise pass catcher but he hit his ceiling imo…Conklin has a higher ceiling as a pass catcher but less as a blocker. Him and Dissley will make a duo that wont give the play away snd either can slide out into shorter to mid routes to move chains. Conklin is a beast too as a bigger TE that is tough to bring down. OG will need time to develop but as stated if he can be a special teamer id expect him active and should get some snaps and catches. Develop him right and we have a weapon but it wont be out of the box in the likely scenario.
Welcome Orande Gadsden II, TE, Syracuse (R5, Pick 165)

(1) Joe Hortiz has demonstrated himself to be a pretty shrewd drafter of pro talent.
(2) Joe Hortiz traded *up* specifically to get Gadsden, fully aware of his current blocking limitations.
To me, this suggests that Joe Hortiz is satisfied that Gadsden's limitations as a blocker can be corrected. If he didn't believe that, it's highly unlikely that Joe would have made the move he did, burning additional draft capital.

I think OG will get play time and we can use his strengths to make plays or be a decoy to clear out sections. If he gets some success he will have to be respected to some extent. I think he will get less snaps early but if he shows progress we really do need 3 TEs to rotate in. Lets hope he takes this time seriously to develop his blocking and route running as job 1 so he can earn the right to be on the field. Should be fun to watch his progress. I like our trio of TEs.

Some TE’s aren’t asked to block while others are predominantly required to.
It’s premature to declare OG can’t block and chip without understanding what he was asked to do in college as he was a primary receiver.

I listened to all of his past interviews on You Tube and he’s a smart young man with a deep understanding of the game and his talents. His father was an NFL receiver so not surprising.
I believe he will play a significant role in the offense in the future and he could very well be a steal where he was taken in the draft.
