If we start calling it the "Buck Phut", will that discourage people from trying to come up with cutesy-poo names for acts of mayhem on the football field?

    Asking for a friend!

"This just in of my High Speed Sports Wire-- The NFL, by 22-10 vote, has determined that the Buck Phut will continue to be a legal NFL play! Pacoima! Hump your way over to the phone, and light up those lines! Rialto! Start twerking, and give me a ringy-ding-ding! China Lake! Eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeee want to hear from EWE, right after you grind on that bar stool! REACTION!"

not a fan of the play - i think a rules solution would be to ban pushing a player behind the line of scrimmage. that would negate the designed "push" plays, but also allow the occasional scrum that develops organically downfield (or example, a running back stood up downfield).

plus, I thought there was a huge focus to protect the QB? if an EDGE rusher breathes too hard on the QB, it's a 15-yard penalty. however, it's ok for the offense to voluntarily use their QB as a human battering ram? make up your mind NFL.

I just don't like the play. I have no interest in seeing Herbert run it.

        What about, Hampton?
or the Aussie, since the Buck Phut---I mean, tushy pushy, looks more like Rugby?

Somewhere out there Colin Kaepernick is telling himself I should be the one out there. Being poked, prod and butt torqued into the end zone.

Probably for the best that it failed. I don’t believe it had anything to do with player safety. I think the NFL didn’t like that Philly was the lone team to pull it off effectively and that it wasn’t an exciting play.

I don't like the play, but the rules allow it and it is not a Belichek type cheating thing. Teams need to find a way to stop it vs complaining they can't. I mean you know EXACTLY what the playcall is. And a lot of teams cannot run it effectively. Hurts is very unique in terms of lower body strength. I think Herbert is just not built right for it. Neither is Lamar, which is why they have Andrews run it.

JEff Fischer would find a way to discourage it on the field and after the whistle. I am confidant of that.

I could see us employing the Tush-Push with Trey Lance in at QB.

Matlock with a couple of the backup OL behind him.
