The TEAM is a Pinto. That has a new battery (Butler); a couple of new tires (Reyes and Liuget); new upholstery (Weddle); a new paint job (McCoy and TT); and good fluid levels (VBrown, Fluker, Allen, Wright, and Manti). Two of the tires are old, but functional (JJ and Freeney); the brakes still have a little life in them (Gates); and we have a new radiator (Ingram) on backorder. However, two of the windows are cracked (Royal, Floyd); the rebuilt engine (Matthews) wasn't worth what we paid for it; and the clutch (Rivers) is shot.
So even with the improvements, it still looks and rides like a Pinto.

Let's just hope the Pinto is not involved in a rear end collision this season. That will blow the whole thing up!!
1. The Texans are a very good team. I never counted them out for a minute.
2. Wade Phillips is perhaps, the best DC in the NFL...and certainly top 5 if you argue that.
3. The Texans have the NFL Defensive Player of the year on their line.
4. Wade is known for, revered for even, making adjustments in the 2nd half of games.
5. There were plays to be made...a couple of passes that Rivers just misthrew...the interception that should have never been thrown...a dropped pass here.
I'm not disgusted with the playcalling. Yes, I did disagree with some of the calls.
I've stated since he was hired, McCoy's whole "build to the strengths of the players" philosophy is going to take longer to learn.
The Chargers possibly caught the Texans a bit off-guard, and then Wade made his adjustments and we struggled after that.
Rivers needs to get better than that at the end of games. Pressure is getting to him, whether it's actual physical pressure, or just mental pressure he's putting on himself.
The playcalling could be better, yes.
The penalty on Cam Thomas was terrible...not saying that cost us the game, because Houston moved the ball so well, I'm not sure it mattered, but it was disheartening and this is a game played with emotion.
These are not excuses. This is a game the team could have, and should have, won. It's certainly a rough way to start the season.
Philly is going to be ultra confident, and deservedly so. It's possible we could lose big this coming week.
How does Coach McCoy and staff react to a difficult situation, how quick do the players bounce back?
The season isn't lost..but it's a rough start. There are definately enough positives to hope to build on, and definately enough negatives to dwell on.
The key will be the reaction from this point forward.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."
Lets say I agree with you and benassi to make it 'official'. So, if its not the old coaching, what is it? The NEW coaching? Meaning what? That norv wasnt that bad afterall? Or the new coaching is no better than the old crappy coaching? That game could very well have been the Saints and/or Broncos game last year, I agree. So is this on the players, making repeated, back-breaking mistakes at the worst possible times, as many have already lamented.
Until proven otherwise.
