Love you Phil, glad you chose us over the Colts. Sorry no one unretired you for a playoff run.

I recall early in your career I thought you would keep us competing no matter how much the team around you changed, but the organization gave you some shit teams with some bad luck. Your still a gamer and great human being and all time Chargers legend, hope the HOF calls your name someday. You will be in the Chargers HOF for sure.

Thats my quarterback!! So much memories watching you tearing up defenses. The best QB out of the 2004 draft.

i figured that he already retired. maybe he was hoping for a late call-up the last 2 years.

my favorite (non-game) moment was when he was being interviewed by the thursday night crew after a win, and he was explaining his bolo tie and snakeskin boots to Deion.

I wondered for a while when this was going to happen. I can't wait to see him honored in the Chargers Hall of Fame. I think we'll wait a little longer for him to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame, since the voters aren't very bright.

Nevertheless, Philip Rivers had a great career for us. He gave it all he had every single start, which he never missed. One of my favorite players of all time.

When did you post it? I didn’t see a thread when I made mine.

maybe some fences needed to be mended between PR and the chargers. it was a weird time - the LA chaos, can he still play, etc. it was an awkward exit.

I'd say it was John Spanos involvment.
