    Draft Network I think.
Well...he is a good looking player and some say might fit the system even better than Ioane. Having a good beastly, young buck at LG would be ideal after last couple of years. A trade down a few spots will be ideal but if not and it is your guy at 22...having Herbert protected next year is more important than whether we reached or not.

I can live with this...I just want one really good guard that gives more confidence than Strange and Penning...and i would really prefer one of the big 4....Ioane, Fano, Pregnon, Bisontis...over the 3rd round guard options.

The Athletic has their second mock draft with beat writers from each team participating.

      https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/712...6-beat-writer/

      22. Los Angeles Chargers: T.J. Parker, Edge, Clemson

The first round almost unfolded perfectly for the Chargers, with Ioane falling into the 20s. The Chargers still have a glaring hole at left guard. I probably could have been more aggressive in moving up. But the Chargers are working with only five picks in the 2026 draft. I thought hanging on to capital was the prudent move. In the end, the Steelers took Ioane, and I pivoted to another pressing need: edge rusher. Khalil Mack is back, and Tuli Tuipulotu is under contract. Odafe Oweh left in free agency to sign with the Washington Commanders. The Chargers could use another piece to replace Oweh. My preferred option was Parker, who has length, physicality and polished hands. A defined plan in his pass-rush sequencing gives him the potential to make an immediate impact next to Mack and Tuipulotu. — Daniel Popper

        Terrible mock draft
        Ioane - one pick away
        Bisontis - two picks away

I like Parker in that spot - -but also could trade down, take Mesidor or CB and take the extra pick

Could be solid...the talent was there, but that whole team fell into a funk, TJ and Woods included. Was it a one off? Our defensive staff has been good at developing players, and getting good performance out of just about everybody...helping them play to their ceilings. Its a pick I could get behind.

All I care about in the grand scheme of FA is were the Chargers trying to acquire a player? Yes, as you’ve so eloquently stated to my Commissar like demand to know the bottom line, there may have been a ton of stipulations to any deal going down. You are indeed correct on that matter. There devil is in the details as you’ve pointed out.
Im stating this because it matters that the Chargers were attempting to acquire these players and that should dictate to us what they think of the position and how they see the draft or trades going forward. Posters keep ignoring this. Some on purpose. All I’m saying is that’s to their detriment. I don’t think the FO is looking at these WRs so they can sign Keenan. I think that’s a last option cause they couldn’t sign these other WRs.
I don’t want to argue with you. As I said, you are one of the best posters about football players skills, strengths and strategies on this board (just my opinion - others may think we are both idiots but I don’’t care). This back and forth about what two reporters wrote about Chargers and Pierce is not even important between us.

I don’t know if what they reported is fact or not. IFF it was fact, I don’t know the details to of any contract offer besides the one we see published with the Cots. I don’t know if the Chargers actually offered a better contract, or if their was an imaginary max possible dollar amount that was bigger on paper (and if so by how much).

I don’t believe they lied, I have no information to think that. If I ever worded it poorly so it seemed I was calling them liars than I am happy to clarify I never said or meant to say that. IFF their story was incorrect, I would not assume they were to blame.

I am fine if you are certain in their report. we don’t need to agree, its all good. I was just posting my opinion. I haven’t seen Joe ever offer a contract like that, and if the FO thinks the big gap in the roster is not having a Dominant Physical X WR, Pierce isn’t that guy. but there is always a first and I don’t know that he didn’t. I also said that.

I don’t think Pierce is a $30M receiver, jmo - I would rather have Oweh at $25M than Pierce at $30M (don’t know if thats smart or not lol).

I now move Pregnon to 1st round.
These numbers and his low body fat are off the charts.
The guy I would now overdraft at 22 based on our need at LG and his fit. A wall on Herbie’s blindside makes me comfortable with Strange at RG

I’m not so sure he’s an overdraft at 22, personally.

Pregnon was projected to be the best OG in this draft a year ago. Apparently Ioane passed him up but it wasn't because Pregnon isn't good.
                    He is. I agree.

There's a chance Pregnon will be our only option in the first round for OG if all the other top OG's that fit our system are drafted by pick 22. Bisontis may be an option as well for us in the first round, but more than likely he falls to the 2nd. The draft of 2025 two OG's were drafted before pick 22. Pregnon seems like the OG that more than likely will be there at 22. Probably comes down to IF we want Pregnon or BPA when we pick.

In last year's draft the top OG's in the first round were drafted as follows: Tyler Booker at 10, Grey Zable at 18, Donovon Jackson at 24!

in the 2nd round: Jonah Savaliinaea at 37, Tate Ratledge pick 57!

Pumping up your Oregon boy so when they draft him at 22, your pupils will think they got a deal not a reach! The picture is pretty sexy I will admit!
Zion was pretty yolked as well! Almost seems like we are exchanging Zion Johnson as our LG for a clone if we draft EP.
