Joly is the mid round TE I like most too.

But there are better TE options in FA like you say.

There is money to do everything including 2 UFA IOL.... if the Chargers cut Bozeman, Becton, DuPree, Dissly and maybe look at a Derwin and Herbert restructure. That gives them tons of cap.

I have been thinking it might be a year early to restructure Herbert but maybe not. If you do it now, you reward him for what he has done and endured for this team and put his ave salary up around 60...because that ave number for the top QBs is only going up and up if you wait. Maybe you get ahead of it

The Chargers have Harbaugh and McDaniel for at least this season and Herbert now in his prime...if this isn't the time to get serious about going for a Super Bowl when is?

Chargers can't afford to do Herbert this year - wait until 2027 or 2028 to touch his contract

They have the cap space this year to be able to accomplish the goals in free agency. Herbert in two years will be good timing because all the players, hopefully signed this year (Oweh, Tuli extension, C, OG, maybe Ladd in two years) - they will need the cap space at that time.

No, I was referring to that run, a few years before that draft class, where 1rst round tight ends, particularly the pass catchers, were dissapointments : Pitts, Hockenson, Fant, Hurst, Howard, Njoku, Evan Ingram (who started out slow), Eric Ebron, Tyler Eifert,

I don't think i would put Warren into that class ... he's a big framed guy, but Bowers/Loveland, for sure. The best two tight ends drafted over that period were more physical .... kelce/kittle

Warren started out quick this season & seemed to level out and Loveland came on later but Loveland really showed well after mid season.

Former Wolverine AJ Barner in year 2 has been good this season. Arroyo didn't really do much of anything being backup to Barner.

I'm sure they will find another TE in this draft. There are some pretty decent ones in it.

I like Michael Trigg Baylor. Dude has hands of gold.
            So he obviously can’t block…lol

A few players to keep an eye on during the combine. Could be fits for the Chargers:

              1) Ted Hurst, WR, Georgia State. 6-3, 207 lbs. 4.5 40. 6.93 3-cone. If he runs a sub 4.5 40 and sub 7 3-cone he might rise up the draft board.
              2) Micheal Trigg, TE, Baylor. 6-4, 240 lbs. Good route runner that needs to work on blocking.
              3) Taurean York, LB, TA&M. 5-10, 230 LBs. Dude is a great leader but is going to have to post a good 40 time. He might go undrafted.
              4) Emmanuel McNeil-Waren, S, Toledo. 6'3, 209. One of my favorites. Can't wait to see how he tests at the combine.
              5) Colton Hood, CB, Ten, 6-0, 188lbs. Needs to have a good showing at the combine to stay in the 1st rnd.
              1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
              2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
              3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
              4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

Ted Hurst is becoming one of my favorite under the radar WRs. Check out his route running and his hands. Highlights below:

                1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
                2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)

I’d throw in RB Demond Claiborne Wake Forest and LB Kyle Louis PITT.
Good find with Hurst. Thats a perfect fit for MM.

Thanks! I know it's lesser competition, but he looks and plays like a #1 WR.

I'll have to take a look at Claiborne and Louis.
