If the Chargers are not able to find an IOL in the first 3 rounds + another in FA, they will go nowhere !

Why not 3 OL FAs and use 3 of first 4 rounds on defense, one on OL? I’m not sure - the rumblings keep telling me it’s a good year for Edge and DT. Idunno. So many ways to skin it … I wish Joe had more picks. Don’t be silly and panic mid-year, Joe!

I don't know if anyone has posted this. Jeremiah talks about his mock draft, which has us taking Lee Hunter with the 22nd pick. Peter Woods goes 30th to the Denver Broncos. I wonder if there's something to that, if he's heard anything. He also talks about Mike McDaniel and the offense, stating that the skill positions are fine but the interior offensive line needs to be fixed. Talks up Hampton, Vidal, Gadsden, Harris, McConkey, and Johnston as being good fits for McDaniel's offense.

I would be happy with us using free agency to fix the offensive line and spend the majority of our picks on defense. We'll see, though.

Who did they get after the draft last few years? Oweh, Tart and Molden ... 3 defensive guys, and seemingly they went after the Green Bay linebacker ... but i might be wrong there.

Center is the only critical need ... I would rather they coach up a few players to play average, solid ball .... and focus on the top of their boards all draft.

We know that with GRO, those type of players hit rock bottom ... good staffs give you greater flexibility.
I would not want to straight jacket myself reaching for OLineman who turn out to be average at best.

Agreed, which is why I am looking carefully at the entire Center market.

Any of the serviceable UFAs would be just about prohibitively expensive due to demand and bidding.

In the draft, we have to scrutinize, not just drop names from a sim.

You don't want them to bother spending any premium draft picks on defensive players, even if they're clearly the best available by the time we're selecting?

If that's the case, I think you will be severely disappointed in April.

I didn't say ignored completly the defense !
I said focus on the #1 problem : IOL
I'm not an idiot, if there is a Von Miller at 22, you have to pick him !

People act like Hortiz hasn't addressed the oline, he has. They just haven't had the luck on the offensive side as they've had on the defensive side. I expect they will bring in several olinemen prior to the draft. It's really not worth getting worked up over the draft until we see what they do in free agency, IMHO.

He has two chances to do it for next year : FA and draft
