What do you think of Monroe Freeling bumping inside to OG, and possibly a swing OT? He seems like he could be an athletic olineman for MM's O?Originally posted by wu-dai clan View Post

He could for sure take over at OT if one of our ummm. OT's go down.

Caleb Banks * Short choppy feet. Doing a nice job bending for his size. Guessing a bit. Not super oily hips, but he’s getting to spots just fine. Keeping the feet moving. Passable, staying low.
Did not do the bag drill. Shut it down after the first drill, Stacey Dales said his feet were bothering him, which isn’t great considering that’s what sidelined him this season. Screwed up the instructions a few times. Hard not to be nervous about the feet now.Dontay Corleone * Did not work out. Was in a walking boot when I saw him at the Shrine Bowl. Maybe has something to do with it.Zane Durant * FAST. Sweet first step. Saw that at the Senior Bowl. Having a hard time digging his feet into the ground at the start. Recovers well, though. High end athlete for the position. Arm movement is definitely in rhythm with lower half.
Eyes starting at the bags on the ground more than he should, but clearly an athlete. Staying low. Feet are sharp and quick. Zooming through these bags. Opens the hips up nicely. No hesitation in the plant, he fires out the gate.
Blown away. First step off the ball is so many. There’s a real pop when he’s ripping through these bags in rushing situations too.
He’s the king of the group, and it’s not close. You want to watch the best in show every drill, just watch him. Club and rip stuff going through these bags, he’s terrorizing it in a good way. Fluid in terms of bending, and is a real chain movement athlete. He can actually sink and fire into the next transition way better than anyone else.
Looks like a cheetah on the hoop. Super impressive bending and staying tight with good play speed.Lee Hunter * Shuffling the feet very well. Not quite dancing bear, but he’s close. Staying lower better than I thought. Big boy passing the test. Dude is a character. Blowing kisses at the cameras. High confidence.
Aced the bag agility stuff. I mean aced. Eyes up. Confident feet. Opened up the hips. I take it back. This is what a dancing bear looks like. Really confident, no hesitation. Foot quickness is impressive. Really light on the feet in a good way.
Guy looks like George from Rampage on the punch. Like he’s going to ransack a village on this pass rush stuff. Very quality stuff, and he’s not a turd off the snap.
The club and rip stuff going around the corners, he’s passing with flying colors. For a dude this big, he’s moving just fine. Did very well.Darrell Jackson Jr. * Did not run. Change of direction in the hip sockets really good. Not super low, but keeping the feet going in a positive way.
Bit high, but passing the test in foot speed. Got through the bags just fine.
Not a crazy punch, but he’s doing a really good job opening up and rounding corners with the footwork. He’s his own worst nightmare. Can tell he has talent, but it’s with lazy dog energy.
I can see why the coach at the East-West kept dogging him. He’s so big and long. Has talent. But there’s never a time when he looks like a killer going through this stuff.
Having a hard time trying to get low to put the towel in the hoop. Fell over right at the end of it.Kayden McDonald * Did not run. No testing in general. Ate it pretty much right away in the wave and told the guy to get back in line to try again later. Second attempt, a tad better, but not by much. Gas tank drains quickly. Needs a Mario mushroom injected into him. Way too high. Feet are moving, but they just stop out of nowhere.
Really short strides. Not covering ground at all in the bags. Knocked the first one off where it’s supposed to be. He’s trying, but man, it feels like he just runs out of gas so early going through this.
Effort looks poor. Guy is slapping the bag. Might have had the most embarrassing slap of the entire group. I can’t tell if he’s dogging it or just such a whale that he can’t do it. Looks like a wobble bodied whale, and it’s not a graceful one.
Kinda disappointed. Slow off the ball. If this were the first time seeing him without knowing what he did at Ohio State, I’d think he sucked.
Best drill was the hoop. Actually, finally had ok speed going through it and didn’t mess up the towel.
Had to put his hand in the dirt to brace himself without falling over in the body control drill.LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

I am not sure about that. It is a posdibility. TBH, I expect some OT needy team to take him before #22. That will create opportunities for us.Originally posted by electricgold View Post

I just watched Logan Jones vs Penn St., Wisconsin, and USC. OK...much better. Actually pretty solid play. He was rubbish vs Nebraska...kinda mid vs Iowa St. But I saw much more physicality in these three games, and few misses....and alot more finishing.
I dunno...I still question his pro strength...and I still like Slaughter, Hecht, Lew, and Brailsford more. But he might be able to start in this league....I wont heckle anyone who mocks him to us.

Keyron Crawford * Did not run or test. Limited football experience, but movement skills are awesome. Sinking the hips and opening up. Changing the pad level. He’s an adaptation in space machine. Acing this wave drill. Play speed good. Not getting stuck. Chain movements. Borderline flawless rep.
Like the punch. Fierce energy to him. Tight around these corners.
Solid rep in the run and club. Not aced, but overall really solid. He’s impressing me a lot.
Dropped the first towel in the hoop, but he’s flying through the drill. Awesome play speed while executing around corners. Made him go again, and the second time he did the same thing except executed the towel.
Side-to-side shift in control and caught the out route.Caden Curry * Did not run. Double tap hitch going to his left in the wave. Solid feet. No real issues.
Feels like a worse Jack Sawyer. Punch and pass rush stuff was fine, nothing to write home about.
Run and club stuff was good. Everything above average. Nothing to blast him over.
It’s been the same thing the entire time. Solid. Just solid.
Bends his knees well. Shifts and relocates to the next spot well.
Everything looks the same. Doing a fine job. Hard to nitpick. Solid all around.Dani Dennis Sutton * Like this player a lot going in. Solid job in the wave. Not perfect, but moving very well. Foot speed well above average.
Did some work on those bags. One club got some force on them.
Run and club dude is hammering these bags. They’re dropping in an instant. Bend well. Maybe a tad tight, but he’s doing really well.
Good on the hoop. Can nitpick him if you want, but he’s thriving.
Didn’t catch the ball, but considering what he is, I thought he was phenomenal in the back pedal.
Had a monster 3-cone number. Monster leaping numbers too.Keldric Faulk * Did not run. Concerning wave drill. Stiff plant leg that got sprawled out and stuck on the first pivot. Didn’t exactly get up off the ground fast either. Getting yelled at for not opening up. Going half speed after the half brace fall. Stumbled again on the spin around to finish.
My red flag is officially up here. Not turn around these bags at all. Is anybody impressed with his punch?
I don’t see some killer. Sinking around the corner, it’s not really that special. I’m not really getting the hype. He’s not bending like some elite player.
Best thing he did was the hoop. Borderline aced that.
Fine back pedal. Not blazing while doing it, but decent pace.
Couldn’t cover less ground in the shuffle.LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

Jones seems stronger than 289 lb Brailsford who looked small out there. Jones is faster too. Jones must have played some good games in college to win the trophy for best center in college football last year. I think his combine only helped him.Originally posted by Lone Bolt View PostI just watched Logan Jones vs Penn St., Wisconsin, and USC. OK...much better. Actually pretty solid play. To be honest, if he wasn't coming off a torn ACL, I think Connor Lew is the clear cut #1 center. The one with Pro Bowl potential.
I think Lew, Hecht, Jones are the best 3 for outside zone, less sure about Slaughter, he doesn't move as well.
It is going to be very interesting to see who our center is...will it be a draft pick or a veteran free agent. The good news is it will not be Bozeman!

Winners
C Logan Jones, Iowa
There’s nothing like a center who can exhibit an elite combination of movement skills and strength and that’s what Jones was able to show at this year’s combine. After being the third offensive lineman to hit 4.91 as an unofficial 40 time, Jones was the only one of the trio to have his time drop to 4.90, making him the fastest offensive lineman to run in Indy this year.
While the 40 isn’t exactly something that translates into what a center will do all that often at the next level, Jones hitting the 4.90 or less threshold actually bodes very well for his future. In the picture below, there are a lot of good names who have all managed to run a 4.90 or less in the 40.
Logan Jones runs an official 4.90, Linemen who his this threshold tend to have a LOT of success in the NFL.

Romello Height * Not bad. Definitely a pause when it’s time to guess the drill. Otherwise, passing the test in the wave.
Not a bad burst. He’s a player. Just not a top end one, but can tell he’s going to have some value.
He’s a bit wild, but it’s not like he’s playing soft. Honestly, not even sure how to describe him. Not failing.
Nailed the hoop. No complaints with his rep there.
Not super fluid in the back pedal. Decent pace, but ate in on the final back pedal and didn’t catch the ball.
Has some kick starter to him. Overall solid day.Cashius Howell * Had a bad trip to start the wave to recover well. I get that sometimes I’m being nitpicky here, mistakes are going to happen, but encouraged by the way he recovered and then bent well to finish. He’s compact. Short arms. Maybe not elite play speed going through this stuff.
Gets off the ball more than fine. The burst won’t be a question. His arm length though, you can see it even navigating these bags. It’s not a great mark for him, and he’s not swimming by these bags effortlessly. The pure punch isn’t bad.
Solid on the run and club. Dude has a sweet spin move. One of the better spins I saw.
Failed the hoop. You can’t unseen the arms. He’s dropping the towels. Coaches yelling don’t bend over and he’s definitely back-bending. Struggling with the reach. Both towels struggled placing and the second one wasn’t close to the target.
Caught the ball. Credit to him for that. Side shuffles work for me.
Think he hurt his hammy on the wheel route.TJ Parker * Pretty good in the wave. Trying to guess a bit, but nice feet. Sweet with it. Not insane, but no real problems.
Some slippage, but something on the bag agility. Nice feet. Not flawless, but doing a really good job.
Conscious effort in terms of power in the punch. Tried to take their heads off and was a breath of fresh air compared to the run before him.
Just doing a solid job. I’m in here. Looks like a real athlete.
Got yelled at for his hoop. Towels not in the zone. Probably the worst part of his workout.
Back pedal not great. Shouldn’t be a coverage player anyway, but had to brace a fall with his hands and couldn’t catch either. Did have a nice snag on the second attempt.LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

Losers
C Sam Hecht, Kansas State
Hecht is a consensus top-three center prospect in this class. At 6’4 and 303 pounds, Hecht had a chance to really show his athleticism at a position that truly appreciates in the NFL. By the end of his testing, he had posted a respectable 5.1 40 time, but really fell short with a 28” vertical and a 8’5” broad jump. The vertical was tied for sixth-worst at the position while his broad was tied for second-worst.
As one of seven offensive line from group one to do the three-cone drill, Hecht posted a 7.75 which ranked fifth in the group and 30th among all centers to complete the test in Indy since 2000.
Despite most of these underwhelming numbers, Hecht was had the position’s fourth-fastest 10-yard split at 1.73. That’s a nice little bit to hang your hat on, but that doesn’t stop the rest of his performance from falling short of expectations.

Nadame Tucker * Really bad in the wave. Sliding around. Getting yelled at for not opening up. Having a really hard time knowing how to stick his feet in the ground. Can’t tell what he’s going for. Drifting really bad. Kind of a mess.
Dude is a mess again in bag agility. Nobody tripped over more bags than this guy. Not confident in his eyes.
Solid punch though. His rushing stuff is saving his workout.
Same theme, run and club. Just way better doing the rushing stuff than moving in space.
Not covering any ground on the hoop. Coach yelled, “stride length”. For being 25, he’s not exactly acing this part.
Coach yelling body control again, “turn tight”.
Just watching him move around in the back pedal. It’s a lot of gross. Body catcher.Zion Young * Did not run. Not bending the best, but his feet are churning alright.
Yelled at for not going quickly. Tripped up on a bag.
Goog punch on the rushing. Not crazy, but at least tried to make a sound on it.
His pure burst isn’t really anything crazy. He’s fine, I guess, but there’s no rocket fuel.
It’s a solid burst. Just not elite. The first towel missed the hoop. He’s more upright than you want.
Really bad in the body control. Looked like his knee was going to give out. Bad shift to get to the next spot.
Caught the ball, but had to put his hands in the dirt to brace on the back pedal. Not a natural doing it.LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

Kaleb Elarms Orr * Really nice run time. Ditto for the leaps. Shuffling fine. Trying to guess a bit, but movement stuff looks there.
Coach is loving his agility drill. Totally agree too. Really nice base, and the feet were cooking. Absolutely nailed it.
Fast, but not a rusher. Slight stumble on the back pedal, but he’s gliding at a really nice pace. Very nice day.Aiden Fisher * Did not run. Lost footing driving toward the ball in the wave drill. Shuffles feet well, but stop starts are not ideal.
Didn’t trip over anything in the agility, but his eyes are down the whole time.
Not a powerful punch, but the technique was at least clean.
Back pedal might have been his best drill. Got through it without any real problems.Jake Golday * Moving better than I thought he would. Toe tapping feet are out there firing. Not perfect, but he’s bouncing and looks good.
Agility pretty solid. Wouldn’t say he knocked it out of the park, but got the job done with no real mistakes.
Pretty quick downhill rushing. Better than expected.
Got hit with a crabwalk on the back pedal. Coach made him redo the rep. He’s not sinking his base low enough. Dropped the ball on the retry.
He’s not a fraud. Has some talent to him. Wasn’t sure coming in, but this is a real player.Kyle Louis * Had one stumble on the wave, but his side to side movement looks good.
Bag agility he’s flying. Maybe cheated it a tad on the side shuffle, but he’s ripping right through it fast with no mistakes.
Side to side he’s tearing this thing up. Dude has real range, it’s obvious watching this.
Took real time to emphasize the rush move.
Bit narrow in the back pedal. Think it caused the one stumble, but his speed doing the drill is a lot better than most.
Definitely passing the test in the pure movement skills. High pace to him.Jacob Rodriguez * Thought he did great in space. Ran better than I thought. Solid job going side to side. Not getting super stuck.
Very good job on the bag agility. Smooth operator. Eyes are up, and it sure looks like he’s practiced this before.
I can’t believe how well he’s doing. Looks like a cat the way he’s gliding at there. It’s boom, boom, boom, while finishing the catch. He’s so on it.
Even rushing like the guy is so on it.
I’m kinda blown away. Back pedal change of direction, stuff he hammered. Can’t say it enough. Dude crushed today.LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry
