I've heard this several places, like SXM NFL Radio, platitudes for Schneider as the Best GM in NFL. Nobody explains the dips SEA had during his tenure between those two SBs. Its 12 years between SB wins. Why did he have to completely rebuild a team after he had already built a SB team? From 2021-2023 they went 7-9. 9-8. and 9-8. Thats ok I guess ... 3rd place type of ok ...

.. but its not 11-6, right?

GMs can get lucky hits, get a few or get yours early and you're a goddamn genius. Early Pete / Schneider years hit on a plethora of late Day 3 picks, suddenly they had the #1 defensive roster in the league and Legion of Boom was born. It even made Gus Bradley into a goddamn genius lol. Has he repeated that fete since? fuck no.

I do wish we had a run of 2 Super Bowl wins with years of unequal, ups and downs in between…Gosh, if only…

Well he has won 2 Super Bowls

The Chargers haven't won a division in 17 years. Let that sink in.

Totally fair...Hortiz deserves more time for sure

No not really. I was only responding to the poster that said Seattle won without participating in free agency so i was just making the point they spend the 4th most in 2025.

If they finish the season the same way as the last two years, it will be too late, because Hortiz has done the same thing now for his 3rd off season. HE just doesn't seem too adaptable. IF they actually offered Pierce the most money from every team that my change perception slightly.

However he let our two biggest free agents go, Oweh and Zion (who apparently Harbaugh loved, and fits MM's system)! And traded two draft picks for nothing to show for it. You don't trade a 5th round pick mid season and then let that player go 6 months later.
I do not agree with this. I didn't want Zion back and now the Cleveland media is like WTF!
              Oweh was a over pay.

Many here said we can't have 3 new guys in the OL. Well, yes we can and yes we will and I'm fine with it. Bears did it.
And again I'll say.......we are not the only team after players. Just because we didn't get a player does not mean he didn't try! We really don't know if he offered Pierce the most. Don't matter anyway, Pierce said he really wasnt interested going someplace else.

We need to stop assuming Hortiz is cheap. I'm glad he didn't over pay for Zion and Oweh. Fit or not, Zion wasnt very good.
              I won't miss him.

Now complaining about losing a 5th over nothing.. ...WTF not like it was a 2nd we gave for Mack,....but then criticize him for holding on the 4th round comp. Can't have it both ways. We needed a Edge rusher and he got us one. OL being all banged up fucked our season up.

Stop complaining till we see the roster in Aug.

All good with not paying Oweh 25 mil with his inconsistent track record and all good with not paying Zion 16.5 for his level of play.

The only time that Hortiz was cheap that bugs me is that he had interest in Jenkins but would not pay the market rate of 12 million for an upgrade over Zion and lost him to the Cleveland Browns of all teams. Hortiz had interest, looked into Jenkins, who was a SFA and didnt affect his comp picks...but he was in this case too cheap to land him even though he wanted him. Not an outrageous price in the free agent guard market and the team had more than enough cap to do it. That looked cheap to me.

Its all good to tell Electric to stop complaining until August....as long as you realize that if the o line is not more improved than it is now by August, it is too late to do anything about it as we saw clearly last year. By then the best lineman Joe could pry out of a team was Auston Deculus. Nuff said.

It really comes down to the draft now. Joe simply needs to come out of there with a startable guard.

Hortiz traded a 5th round pick for Oweh for a reason. Should of just kept the 5th and rolled with who we had instead of using it for a rent a player for a few games.

I love making the playoffs two seasons in a row and 11 win season because we have a great QB and HC. But I can't stand being a one and done team. It pisses me off. Its like fools gold with a capital F.
Lol, seriously? When everyone was wanting us to get an edge,..... we did .
.but hey all ask your opinion on this if we are in the situation next year,.... if we should just stay put and keep a 5th or 6th and not try to win 🙄.

I'm sure you were one that was happy we got Oweh and now your saying this lol. Cmon man.
If the OL wasnt in shambles, we would of went further in the playoffs.
Can't help injuries but then I see posters blaming Ben Herbert for that lol..... We are never happy

That's fair. Oweh was a good edition at the time and that was the cost of doing business. That was an example of an aggressive move some of us are asking Joe to do a little more of to get this team to a division title.

But overall the guard market was not that outrageous this year. You could have upgraded ZIon for 12 million...unless you simply refuse to pay the market rate and will only bargain shop...while also restricted because you care more about your comp picks than your franchise QBs health.
Again, maybe Jenkins didn't want to go to CA. Idk if we offered him a deal but why we always assume we didn't?
Jennings was released so he wouldn't of counted towards losing a comp pick

Really should be 3 super bowls if Pete Carroll didn't overthink things and remember that he had MarShawn Lynch

Obviously i am not privy to what offer was made or not made. I only know it has now been reported that the Chargers showed interest in Jenkins and have to assume it came down to money.

Why else would you choose the dysfunctional Cleveland Browns and living in Cleveland over Harbaugh, McDaniel, Herbert on a contending team ?

Maybe I am being unfair, but i expect my team, while contending, to beat out the loser Browns with no QB, for the best guard solution on the free agent market that worked perfectly into the comp pick formula.
