Only 6 centers have been picked in first round in past ten years but some like Ryan Kelley and Frank Ragnow often become long time fixtures combining for multiple pro bowl and all pro honors. Linderbaum is the most recent #1 pick and he has indeed been good.

For the record, I’d like Linderbaum as much as the rest of you. I’m just worried how much that would cost when we need to spend on two guards and potentially 3 quality OL backups as well.

And that’s not even considering every other position on offense and defense.

Isn't everyone saying this draft is rich in Olineman? Are you completely against drafting an OG in the first two rounds and naming him the starter day one?

Also every FA we sign doesn't have to be top dollar expensive, but we should pay 18-20M for Linderbaum if it gives Herbert a pro-bowl potential center, instead of giving that to Mack who is not the same DE he used to be at 35...

I guess I would be ok with an overreach for OC to ensure we secure a quality starting OC. If that is Joe's unilateral decision over the objections of Jim and McD, that is. I know who's got the laminated JD. 3 years ago I would NEVER have considered a Center in Rd1. I'm ready now lol. its one way to get where I want to go, but that means another FA Edge, DT, DB, ??? depending on overall draft.

Sign a Lindy and draft an Ioavaga whatever his name is (apologies to his family)? They need to both draft an IOL starter to grow and sign good vets that upgrade the IOL imo.

Hopefully the Chargers can secure a good center in free agency....cuz if they can't....it will alter their draft plans. They will have to draft a center in the first 3 picks, one they believe can start along side some experienced guards.

This could involve reaching over BPA because acquiring no center this off season is not an option

Maybe I'm wrong but I think Pregnon would be a better fit in McDs scheme over Vega. Plus, Pregnon could play OT in a pinch if need be.

The plan is simple- Sign either Linderbaum or McGovern, sign RG Wyatt Teller, trade down and draft LG Chase Bisontis in the back of the 1st.
