The IOL actually had some good plays. Look through the video clips and photos at Chargers.com.
You'll see some decent blocks. It wasn't perfect, we all know that but there was some fight in them. They got better with Lance at QB.

Agree,. They may be showcasing him for later down the road. But If he wins the job, I'm good with it.
Heinicke does have way more experience and we talking a backup to Herbert.

I hope neither one plays at all.

We only threw 20 passes. Neither QB was good throwing it. Lance did run well. Receivers weren't as good as last week and more of the 3rd stringer and PS guys played

I’d sign Trey Lance to a nice 3 yr. 10 million dollar contract to be Justin Herbert’s exclusive backup. I just think it makes sense in today’s NFL to have that.

okay shots fired somebody post Louis Rediccks post basically directing it at Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers saying. Happy for Trey being in a supportive situation. No BS no Agendas. Wow.!!!!!! I so agree. I think Kyle Shanahan is overrated. And is a douche. A pompous Douche. Why’s he’s so good???? How many super bowls??? Never supported Trey Bullshited him. I told y’all Harbaugh would help him. Because he’s a real Quarterback Coach. I saw it with Luck Smith Kaepernick Mccarthty Herbert and now Lance. Harbaugh works wonders. Shit even Josh Johnson. So fuck Shanahan.

What an endorsement on Harbaugh. We got something. Everybody blew smoke how great Purdy is. He’s a nice Quarterback. People acting like Shannahan found Patrick Mahomes. Oh that’s right he passed on him in the draft.

I think they are showcasing Lance right now. Every year a QB bites the dust, last year was McCaffrey.
If Lance can show out and looks legitimately rehabilitated in pre season he will be atop some teams list of emergency options at QB. He’s still really young.

Could be but I don't think he is starting material, just backup.

He literally said this week he wants to start somewhere. I find it hard to believe he abandons that to be a career backup, especially now that he finally seems to be making some progress as a QB.

Shanahan has been to the Super Bowl multiple times while we haven’t even come close. He might rub people the wrong way I don’t know but IMO he is not overrated.

The O-line sets the tone and they were bad today, all the backups played bad IMO, too much pressure on our QBs and the run blocking was very inconsistent...we are settling into a disturbing trend under Roman where the O-line looks really good one week and then looks awful the next, I don't understand what would be the cause...maybe Detroit has a shit D-line compared to NO?

The run game wasn't bad. Lance did lead all rushers but the carries Haskins got and Rocket got, they ran well.
                          Haskins had a good day.

Idk just how many starters played today but since we are too beat up to scrimmage the Rams this week id guess it wasn't many for very long.

I'll rewatch it later on NFLN since much of it I missed switching back and forth to the Padre game.
