Well here we go. My prediction followed by the reasoning:
Week 1: CHIEFS (FNF) W
Week 2: @ RAIDERS (MNF) L
Week 3: BRONCOS W
Week 4: @ GIANTS W
Week 5: COMMANDERS L
Week 6:@ DOLPHINS W
Week 7: COLTS (TNF) W
Week 8: VIKINGS W
Week 9:@ TITANS W
Week 10: STEELERS (SNF) W
Week 11: @ JAGUARS W
Week 12: BYE
Week 13: RAIDERS W
Week 14: EAGLES (MNF) L
Week 15: @ CHIEFS L
Week 16: @ COWBOYS W
Week 17: TEXANS W
Week 18: @ BRONCOS L
FINAL RECORD: 12 - 5
This was so hard to predict. I'll be honest, if we had a healthy Becton, Slater, Harris, and had Poona Ford returned, I'd feel so much better about the overall state of affairs. But since we still have Greg Roman leading this offense and we now have Alt moving to LT, we may not have a full season of Becton (he's missed so many practices already), we have the same Center and LG as last year, and we have to go with Pipkins at RT....sigh. I don't feel great about this. Not to mention Najee Harris maybe not getting his predictable 1,000 yard season.
So, again, this was hard to predict. I'm usually pessimistic with our team (understandably so) but I do see this schedule as more winnable then not. So a 12 - 5 season.
I think Omarian is a HUGE upgrade for us at RB1. Having Keenan WITH Ladd is music to my ears. Hoping Q keeps making his progress (last year was an upswing for him). We have some potential at TE. Losing Slater means our margin for error is very thin, if any more injuries occur. But there is hope.
Defensively, we have Minter. And we have Henley, Mack, James, and young guys who seem to posses a world of potential to be good to great. Let's see if this more challenging schedule against better QBs (compared to last season) doesn't trip them up.
I gave us (per usual) a split with each AFC West team (generally speaking, that's what we do). I want us to win that first game so bad. I think the Monday Night Raider game, while it does favor us, may be trickier than we think. They have two offensive studs (potentially with Jeanty) and Maxx Crosby on D who always gives us fits (and with no Slater...well, ugh).
Since I don't really think we'll go 12-5 (I wish), I'd probably add a loss at either the Cowboys (what a brutal last half of the season this could be) and/or the Steelers (who we always seem to struggle against for some reason). Also, the Texans could be a problem (they certainly did well against this line the last time we played them).
So then we would have the same record as last season, 11 - 6.
Go Boltz!
