Welcome to the Bolts, OL Austin Deculus

Well, we wanted O-line depth, so Trader Joe must have been kind of high on this guy to part with a future 7th rounder. Deculus has a pretty good 40 time for a big guy. Better pass pro than run blocking. Maybe Devlin can coach him up:

6-5 with 34 inch arms. Much higher pass blocking grade than Pipkins. Also pretty durable. Could be a potential RT upgrade.

Yep...a 49 for Pip vs. a 76 for Deck...nice upgrade for sure...and remember, Deck would be playing right next to Becton...

Austin Deculus is a powerful dude. He squatted 585 lbs in High School and competed in the strongest man final at the 2016 high school competition.

He won’t be a starter because he needs time to learn the offense but could end up a capable backup to Pipkins if he gets injured.

              Good signing.

Pipkins stats at OG. No surprises there. He was better at OT. Not great but better.

We upgraded that right side all right.

Alt should be the long term LT.

Rashawn to become the RT/Swing tackle option mid-term.
                  Pipkins the backup swing tackle.

Continue to look for elite Guards in draft.

Continue to look for better young swing tackles long term.

Ok but my question is.....with it being well known that Houston has had among the worst o lines in the NFL the past few years...how does this player get only 1 start in 3 years if he is good? how does he spend all but 12 games of his 3 year career on the PS? Actually surprised a draft pick was given up for a guy who could have been a cut

At least it was a 2027 7th rounder.

What’s Pipkins pass blocking as an OT? You can’t compare two different positions.
