I was about to say just that.

Look, last year was the result of Tom Telesco's awful roster construction, which when he was fired by the Chargers, the team was not only over the cap but had just 5 wins to show for it.

They had to do a roster purge which unfortunately nuked almost the entire offense. So, Greg Roman did what any offensive coordinator would do in such a situation, and just fashion something that worked out of what they had left.

One year, and one decent draft later, and that offense is now becoming young, talented, and dangerous. And Roman sees that and is using the talent to max effectiveness yet again.

Will we see the exact same play calling in the coming weeks? I hope not, because to win you have to take what your opponent gives you. KC clearly tried to stop the run, and they made Andy Reid and company pay in the passing department.

In the coming weeks, look for smart coaches to watch tape, and try to adjust to stop the passing. Hopefully, this will give Hampton the kind of running room he needs to run wild and keep things rolling in a different manner.

That is my prediction. Book it, and if I'm wrong, feel free to come back to this thread and tell me how dumb I am. I look forward to it.

I told BayArea that he needed to get the Fire Greg Roman (Part 3) thread going early... before it was too late. It's too late. Imagine what we would have done to the Chiefs with Rashawn Slater @LT...
we came close to having both Rashawn and Mike Williams on this roster...

the most egregious one was the broken coverage against Hollywood, 4 and 7 if memory serves me correctly and that felt like oh no here we go again finding a way to lose one of these games...

Most people over 20 years old would agree
I have Fouts on my avatar and he is my childhood idol but I disagree with you, Fouts is firmly in third place on that list, at the rate that Fouts threw interceptions he doesn't even belong in the conversation, especially when you consider that defense were designed to stop the run in his era, all the interceptions point to how reckless he was with the ball on a consistent basis. The man will always have legendary status which puts him in the top three but it's really a two man race and Rivers is still very much #1, Herbert has a ways to go before I crown him over Rivers, Herbert is easily the most gifted QB in Charger history, he's a physical specimen and he's smart, he's the guy I used to design on madden back in the early 2000s with my name on the jersey, LOL!

Rivers had the size Herbert has, but his arm was no where near in Herbert's class, Herbert is a smarter guy too but Rivers was savvy as hell, Herbert can run circles around prime Rivers from an athleticism POV, what Rivers had was that field general thing that I think Herbert might finally be developing, also Rivers was as tough as tank, I don't think Herbert will ever reach that level of toughness, Rivers was a legendary toughness up there past even Fouts. I don't think Herbert will ever be that tough...maybe by modern standards Herbert might be considered tough, Rivers is still the #1 man tho...

I thought it was weird that we went with only two TEs in this game, both Fisk and Gadsden were inactive, correct?

Tart is on pace for 50+ pass deflections. I'm always impressed at big guys who have enough vision to bat down balls while hand fighting with a G and/or C. It's time to get him on the jugs machine, and drop him into coverage. I'm sure he's good enough for several INTs.

Move him to safety (into the nickel)!

Mahomes says we came out with more energy and the right mindset.
                      Classy dude.
translation: we tried to food poison more of their guys but Becton was the only one stupid enough to eat the food we sent...

2 people to watch real closely when rewatching the game to determine this team's mindset.

Okay I hope everyone remembers Tart's swat at Kelce? I'll come back to it.

                        1) Harbaugh: Guys pay real close attention and study Harbaugh's mannerism in the game. Sniper locked in focus with a calm demeanor intent to execute. The intent for his team to execute accordingly. I get some shades of vintage Phil Jackson where the glare does the talking. When the offense was doing good ok he can fist bump and smile. When Tart had the penalty accessed he was pissed. In both cases staying in that locked in zone so to speak. No overly emotional crying to refs. No yelling at other staff or players. Not overshadowed by the Chiefs and their media coverage. I'm here at this champion level. Everyone else show me on the field you can get there too.

                        2) Tart: He had the penalty which sparked Kelce to come alive which in term lifted his team with the antics and the scoring. We're about to come from behind and embarrass you Chargers on TV again. Tart's play for the rest of the game demonstrated the Chargers resolve to execute. To keep playing consistently. If a breakdown occurred to stay the course mentally first and foremost. To execute more plays than the Chiefs. We weren't playing to NOT CHARGER again. To not lose. We played to dominate and win.
